Hi all, a newbie here hoping to get some advice from the mechkeyboard community here. Looking to replace my stock desktop keyboard i got long ago with a new one and interested in looking for a mechanical one for a better typing experience. Usage mainly for long hours daily use on for work; not much of a gamer, but enjoy once in a while casual gaming.
With my limited research for the past week and also testing out some keyboards in some retail stores, I really like Razers keyboard such as the Huntsman Elite (for its typing, dedicated media control/knob, and comfy palmerst); however its way above my budget, so have looked at alternatives.
My preferences:
- Full-size keyboard with Numpad
- Dedicated media/extra keys, a volume knob would be a bonus
- Future switch swapping if possible (although not a must, as I'm not sure if I would get into the whole upgrading in future or not, but allowing it would be good)
- Single colour LED lighting (not a fan of multicoloured lighting)
- Budget rm300
Initially thought the Logitech G610 fit my choice and found it selling for rm300, but then i did find out about Redragon keyboards and the K586-Pro looked like a good alternative with bonuses (extra macro keys, includes palm rest, and switches can be changed in future(?), and selling for under rm300 ). Corsair keyboards also looked interesting but look like its all above my budget and Redragon looks like the cheaper version of them.
Which do you guys think would be better? Is Redragon a reliable brand as I don't see it mentioned as much here? Is there other alternatives you would recommend?
