Al-kisah, aku telah ditawarkan bekerja di sebuah syarikat tempatan yang aku namakan Company X.

Dengan gaji RM1,800, aku diberi jawatan sebagai Project Engineer. Memang clear scope kerja yang dalam offer letter masa mula2 aku masuk bekerja dengan Company X.
.
Namun, selepas hampir setahun aku bekerja. Work scope aku semakin bertambah. Aku lah yg kena jaga engineering, aku lah kena buat PO. Aku lah yang kena check stock kat warehouse. Aku lah yang kena bagi training ke staff baru. Sampaikan tandas kat site tersumbat pun aku yang kena call service provider untuk setel masalah tersumbat tu.

Balik on-time? Jangan cerita lah..tak pernah dapat..manjang balik kol 10 malam je😣😣.

Walaupun aku masih muda time tu, kalau dah hari2 balik pukul 10malam. Badan yang kuat pun boleh jadi lembik. Lama2, aku dah tak tahan. Aku pun email ke HR.

What?? Naik RM200 je! Sedangkan workload aku sekarang perlukan aku kerja lebih masa 4jam sehari @ 50% lebih daripada 8jam masa yang wajib aku bekerja. Paling2 pun naik lah 50% (RM900). Herm, aku reply email MD aku.

I couldn’t deny there are lot of candidates outside there who are desperately looking for a job. However, please consider the hiring timeline below:
Day 1- Requirement generated by Department
Day 2- HR publish the same and invite application.
Day 3- You will receive 1,000 application dump in system / email daily.
Day 4-10: Application keep on coming in.
Day 11-20- Screening of application by HR.
Day 21-30- Shortlisting of candidate for initial discussion.
Day 31-35 – Further shortlisting and schedule face to face interview for shortlisted candidate.
Day 36-40- Interview session with potential candidate.
Day 41-45 – Final shortlisting on interviewed candidate.
Day 46-55- HR Negotiations.
Day 56-60 – Offer letter roll out to candidate.
Day 61-120 – Awaiting new candidate to be on board (due to notice period 2 months average in Malaysia).
Day 120 – New candidate will join the company.
Company need to wait 4 months to get new replacement. Is it company have plan how this 4 months workload can be covered if I planning to give 24hours resignation notice?

Selepas daripada email aku di atas, gaji aku dinaikkan ke RM2,600 daripada gaji asalku RM1,800 (tak dapat full RM900 macam yang aku demand. Kena slash jugak RM100.hahaha). Nevertheless, yang penting ada kenaikan😊.

After that email jugak, Boss aku tone down skit dengan aku and ada sense of respect (maybe hiring timeline aku tu memberi kesan mendalam kepada dia).

But tak lama lepas tu, aku tender resignation jugak untuk rezeki yang lebih baik.

Kepada majikan diluar sana, jangan lah anda sombong sangat. Kadang2 cara UGUTAN kepada pekerja tidak memberi apa2 faedah. Malah, ia lebih merugikan. Lebih baik berbincang secara baik daripada memberi ugutan.

professional engineer is not just an engineer...........

Professional Engineer is a legal term, which is granted to a person granted such title by Board of Engineers of Malaysia or equivalent. Those definitely celery RM10k min per month.....

Someone with a degree in engineering merely can call themselves an engineer by law, but not professional engineer, so long as they are not chartered.

If he is a registered Engineer with Board of Engineer, then he can bear the title of Ir.

It is sad to learn that the service of a professional engineer is not valued by the company nowadays.

But his title is IR Abdul Rahman. IIRC you can't simply call yourself IR without the title being granted by BEM.
