30GB per week is atrocious. Even today I Zoom the whole day - clock up 2.3GB on my Unifi Bebas. And that's considered breaking my record. Normally less than 2GB on some days.

And I still can't quite figure out how your kid can clock 4.29GB day.
My 2 kids, with limit of few hours only per day - on Youtube, cant even clock pass 1GB.

Anyone here experiencing shit slow speed (intolerable) during this FMCO.

Already file a complain to Maxis and they say will take a week to rectify . Hopefully. Or else gonna port out to the orange fella if still cannot fix.

Im the opposite.
I have Hotlink and Unifi bebas. My Unifi line is fine - everyday clock in 2-3GB per day for PDPR , and other necessity.

Whereas the Hotlink, sigh.. keeps switching to 3G in my housing area. Force it to 4G only mode, and calls wont come in, even with VOLTE enabled (and VOLTE certified phone) .
Sometimes Whatsapp can delay even.
So have no choice, leave it to 3g/4G mode.

So I have already lodged complain to Maxis.

Only way to bypass the Free 1GB is use VPN.
And nowdays I dont rely on Speedtest. Run CloudFare or Linode speedtest is more accurate.

I'm using either OpenVPN or SoftEther (only for Windows, although there is 3rd party client in Android)
Both are free and reliable. For OpenVPN there are plenty of Singapore based servers.
But somehow I noticed that Japan servers (majority on SoftEther) are abit faster (not based on Speedtest) than Singapore servers. Somehow.

Nope. If you wanna try it, please try first with the free 1GB see if your area realy can hit 10Mbps.

Recently I went to "Kiasu" land, and because I did not subscribe to any roaming data pass at all, and my balance is less than RM 10.
surprisingly Maxis decides to just kill the signal completely - Zero bar / Emergency call only.
Meaning cant even receive SMS or incoming "Miss call" .

Unlike my other lines, Yoodo, one of them had "Roam From home" , the other didnt have, however both can receive SMS.

Their T&C says :
Is there a minimum credit amount that must be maintained on my Hotlink account for GPRS, MMS access, while roaming?
Yes, you need a minimum credit balance of RM10 to use this service.

Based on my own personal experience,
Facebook Short Story videos consume little data, Live videos, yes, it will consume more.

But dont expect it to last a year lah.
casual chat like whatsapp and wechat is fine, might last up to 3 months estimated.

Take the 8GB - 365 days option for RM 15 if this concerns you.
Then you can reload RM 10 every month until you are able to collect RM 30 for 1 yr subscrpition.

Exactly, downgrading the RM 35 plan puts them more expensive than either Yoodo or Umobile GX which offers Unlimited call despite the limited Hotspot quota.
Maxis has always been more anal than other "unlimited" competitors.
And to think their line is better - I personally test against my other line - Umobile - and its slower.

This part I cant quite figure out ; Probably they feel "making calls" cost them more than "Data usage".

You can choose to port out to other telcos like Yoodo Umobile or Unifi Mobile which (so far) doesn't impose FUP. If that's the thing you are looking for.
But Unlimited data remains valid terminology. FUP or not.

You can try sue Maxis for misusing the word Unlimited but they will still win in their favour that it's still considered not limited in data usage. Only limited in speed when you hit their FUP.

For umobile.
If its the GX unlimited plan on older Unlimited Funz Pack - Don't have FUP. I'm using this pack now.
But the newer prepaid UM 25 and UM 35 data plan have FUP up to 100Gb, and it seems newer pack doesnt have access to GX Unlimited plans , and vice versa.

Not sure if can still get the Unlimited Funz Prepaid Starter Pack or not.
FYI I also have Yoodo too. In my area Hotlink is worse than both Yoodo and Umobile. So it depends on area.

2 weeks ago I bought another Hotlink pack, the new Hotlink Unlimited 1.0, thinking their 4G network would be good, but turns out - its like crap.

I even subscribed to the 80GB FUP Unlimited Data plan. Luckily didnt go for the 100GB plan.
At night , at my home, it was totally unusable. The worst was Band 7, zero incoming data.
No matter my device tries to switch 1,3,7,8 the only usable I remember was Band 1.
To add: My device does not support Carrier Aggregation.

After 2 weeks of tolerating , enough is enough , swapped it out and put in on my phone which supports CA.
Dont want to even call customer service.

I will only keep it for data roaming once the monthly data plan ends, other than that - if it gets terminated, I dont care.
