Recently I've spent a huge sum of money to replace all the old cement roof tiles of mine to new Monier ones, to mitigate small leaks and to prepare for a planned new ceiling (17k MYR).

The contractor in charge did such a sh**ty job that now a few of my rooms are practically raining when heavy rain is in occurrence. My ceilings are all completely drenched. I have since ended my relationship with the prior contractor (Paid only 8k and ended contract) and are now consulting a new one which recommends either aluminium foil or zinc sheet to be installed under the current roof tiles.

Should I agree with this ? Please advice me as i want to prepare to redo my ceiling ASAP.

Aluminium sheet installation quote = 1.7k
Zinc sheet installation quote = 2.5k

The unit below mine spotted water mark on their bathroom ceiling when they removed the plaster ceiling during renovation. So I decided to check out applying sealer on my bathroom floors to stop the leak. Was quoted almost RM5k for two bathrooms for crystallization type sealer. This is applied on floor, 7 ft on shower walls and 4 ft on all other walls. Sounds a bit excessive to me. 2 years warranty.
