Sorry if I sound ignorant. But I am wondering why people are buying used iPad at price very close, or sometimes higher than what Apple themselves are selling for new?

I mean, first of all, they could claim an extra RM2.5k of tax rebate. Depending on your annual salary, it's worth at least RM100-200.
Secondly, one can buy using education price, which my gf happens to qualify. That's another ~RM300 knocks off from the MSRP. The strange thing is, Apple never checked if my gf really qualifies to purchase at Education price or not. Or am I missing something?

Most of the used iPad Pro 2018 and onwards are overpriced.
