USB 3.0 max speed is 640MB/s, 2.0 is 60MB/s, both is way over 5GHz speed.

Stream data over wifi between devices is such as copy files from laptop to your phone.

yeah, but i have researched before when getting a wifi card for pc that a usb wifi adapter and a pcie wifi adapter, pcie wifi adapter is more stable as it has more antenna and the pcie slot does not limit the adapter usage

hmm, mind elaborate a little more ??

no, 2.4G is a hit or miss thing, the best u could is adjust/replace the antenna or change ur device location ....
had better move on to 5G and beamforming..
what do you mean by 2.4G is a hit or miss thing ??
i think my device location is the best as it is center of my house, and the lan cable can reach too ( unifi lite copper wire ) ~

yeah but for now only my smartphone is able to connect to 5ghz, laptop does not support.... not sure will worth to spend extra RM150 to get a dual band...

If your neighbourhood is less congestion.
u could give Asus DSL-N16 or TPLINK TD-W9960 a try...
IMHO they r in same par...
i think my neighbourhood is okay, in times there are like 8-9 devices of 2.4ghz wifi connection which causing latency. But even now when that isn't any congestion, my wifi signal will disconnect and the Wlan and data light keep on blinking at lightspeed...

Asus DSL-N16 or TPLINK TD-W9960, you mean the specs are the same with each other ? the price different for both is RM20 (Asus slightly more expensive)
TPLINK TD-W9960, i read that the wifi signal is unstable ...
for Asus DSL-N16 is it the same as mention in the website below ?? RT-N16 (streaymx)
RT-N16

ps. It seem like all the 2.4ghz wifi signal is not stable.

Thanks

I'm using USB wifi, no stability or limit usage issue.

LAN or Local Area Network. If you have no idea what is this then it's not important for your unifi modem router.

which usb wifi are you using ?? how many antenna are there ??

actually it is streamyx modem router , with the speed of mbps ( TM call it as unifi lite for some reason )

Let me share some of my experience, using Xiaomi router with dual band router around RM110. Router sit on the living room, so over there can use 5Ghz signal no problem, can access my max 50mbps Unifi at full speed. But when go to different section of the house, the 5Ghz signal drop significantly, due to wall and other stuff. I have a room is 2 wall behind the router, the signal become extremely weak. So my usage now is when near the living room, use 5Ghz, at room, use 2.4Ghz. So 5Ghz don't magically made everything become better. My 2.4Ghz though, even when it sucks, still get around 30mbps, stream video, surf net no problem, but if after a wall, the latency become too slow for online gaming, so for game, I have to go near living room.

Hope this can give you some idea how 5Ghz expectation.
My current plan is actually streaymx with mbps modem router, not really unifi fibre (TM call it as Unifi Lite for some reason) .
Where do you buy your xiaomi router from ??
Is it just router ?? how about your modem ?
Thanks

I'm using Unifi Fiber. My comment is not to compare between ADSL and Fiber Optic. From my comment you can see even at 2.4Ghz I can get 30+Mbps, even more when running on 5Ghz, so do you think either of those signal enough to cover your 10Mbps?

Btw I'm buying at Lazada, but it's an old model, no long selling.

yeah, i think actually 2.4ghz should be fine for now, as for 5ghz only my smartphone is able to support.
And from the modem router that i have been recommend to, i have checked their review and it seems the wifi signal is not stable ( which my main point of buying a new modem router ) so it got me thinking. does all 2.4Ghz modem router has the same issue (Wifi signal not stable, by not stable i mean like getting less than 0.5mbps, i gotten 0.1mbps before, in 2 days ago) ???

Thanks.
