It's a condo, for rental
purpose....

But, during afternoon, the condo quite hot.

Is it worth to do windows tiny? The cheap one... Around RM800...

Or Any suggestion to reduce the house temperature without incur too much cost?
I already bought d curtain.

U can share here or pm me any method.

Not required for rental. Cheap tint is going to make your windows look terrible after 2 or 3 years and doesn’t reject much heat.

If it’s for your own stay, absolutely.

Just wondering, if I tint my windows but I open them, what's the efficiency like of reducing heat into the house?

Is tinting windows more for keeping heat out when your windows are closed (and the aircon is on)? So less electricity used to cool the room?

If done right is worth. Provides privacy, reduction of heat / glare & also can be aesthetically pleasing. Security also. Coz ppl cannot see in.

I believe those that voted yes think that it’s for your own stay. If I’m looking to rent a unit, tinted windows is far down my “nice to have” list. It’s not something that will sway a potential tenant into renting your unit. If you spend money on high quality tinting, it will cost you a minimum 4-figure and you’re better off providing more complete furnishing with that cash. If you go for cheap tints, you’ll probably need to remove it before renting out to your next tenant.

Hi all. I am thinking of tinting my sliding door and all my windows for condo. My sliding door is quite large as well.

I think a set of blackout curtains and rods will be better for that RM800 if for own stay.

Willing to DIY? Can get from Taobao, a 1450 x 1850 cm (approx.) tinting film cost less than RM30 (better quality around RM50).
Shopee also does have it.
Saw reviews, its quite easy to DIY, just that you need patient.

Why would anyone wants to do window tinting for rental property?? You can’t get higher rental and cheap ones will discolored or ineffective quickly.

It only makes sense to do this for own stay ... with decent quality tint

Getting 'no-brand' things from online is a bet, might be inferior, normal or superior quality at a good price.
I ordered mine form TaoBao, haven't stick it on yet. But reviews on the seller are mostly positive. I saw some sellers on Shopee were flood with positive reviews too.

Anyhow, based on those reviews, it can be easily stick on, also easily tear off (with intention, not auto-drop off). So, I am willing to give it a try at such price. I PM a few tinting shop online, they quoted me somewhere around RM150 - 200 for the similar size i mentioned earlier.

I purchased my from TaoBao too on year 2013. The price i save compare to local is huge different. Quality wise hard to compare.
As at now, the color fade a bit compare to original, tiny part which keep under hot sun wrinkled a bit, but overall not noticeable.

For the price and years of usage consider ok for me. Not sure those local branded which quote me few k can last for how long?

Pinjam topic, my condo mgmt disallow reflective tint.

What are the criteria to look into when choosing tint? Main purpose reduce heat in house? Without making it too dark.
