Sorry but to say that you can't expect others to change for you, if you feel highly disturbed by sound from above, should find own solution not rely on others to do it for you ...

You may think "is the guy staying above fault, why i have to pay for it" ... but do note the guy above is not bothered by the noise, you are.

Landed unless you live in comer lot or bangalow, chances are you will hear noises from your left and right neighbour.

Those whereby your unit is standalone and no neighbor sticking to your unit left/right

Actually, serious answer here. If you can afford it, build a second ceiling for your unit and insulate the f*** out of it. Will drastically reduce the noise.

For me, still facing issues with the neighbors above and next door. Already got into an argument with both of them because they cannot control their unruly devil children and allowing them to run around until midnight, banging and hitting the floor and walls. Offered them floor mats but they refused saying they know how to control their kids. Idiotic people.

Coz like in my case unfortunately, there's nothing I can do but just tolerate.
My upstairs neigbour macam dinosaur walking, running and hopping. It's so audible that I can record the noise on my phone. But when lodge this to the MO, they said they did had not committed any wrong.

Having a similar nuisance here. The kids upstairs non stop running , jumping, dragging furniture, knocking the floor.

If I sit quietly at home without noise-cancelling earphone, will get shock by the sudden stomping every few minutes. Waken up by the noise as well during the weekends
