Samsung korean ma. But ok la in terms of security in general. Their camera also quite good but i think huawei since they work with leica the images night mode is quite strong but since security might be an area of concern id avoid le.

To me that one not big problem la but the device itself if got backdoor that one is very worrying besides backdoor got security experts who found flaws in their OS last time and huawei never take action. So can put two and two together i will be bit sceptical. As a device on its own value for money but without GMS and security concerns no matter how good also i rather not touch.
*
western intelligcence agencies didnt find any proof of back doors despite trying their hardest to discredit china. if cia and their other 5 eyes countries failed to hack china mobile phones, you can be sure that its secure.

but dont take my word for it , you can open a new topic in mobile phones subforum. if you have the balls.

Quite tough. Soon some CCP troll will come and say everything China make is superior and the imperialist is garbage.

the keywords is price to performance ratio. using that comparison , china phones are world-leading.

Not doubting the phone quality the slightest bit. Without google services can be quite annoying but that is very secondary.

Primary concern will be with regards to security as there is a law in China that makes it mandatory for Chinese state own telco companies to provide the gomen with data.Which is ok if u not anti CCP and there are other potential security loopholes.

That aside in terms of hardware camera and the phone itself is freaking amazing but the question you need to ask is how secure are you.
*
"potential security loopholes." ? have these been proven conclusively by american agencies who are hell bent on discrediting china ?

meanwhile, you already have proven security loopholes built into google/facebook/apple, which allowed the CIA to spy on angela merkel, chancellor of germany

I trust huawei and honor phones the most, though.
I see a lot of Samsung and of course apple (ugh, sorry) around, but Huawei remains the most reliable and convenient for me.

Samsung phones used to be too over the top for me and their old UI was horrendous. I know they have improved by a lot over time but the price.....

I've played around with Xiaomi over the long weekend and it seems that the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro is... well.. pro.

The new edition of P30 Pro looks promising too.

After reading all the comments, I do think it's hard for me to go on without GMS. All that's left now is probably my own budget lol.

Too bad huawei selling price is above Korean phone and the latest series increase another tier of price despite removed functionality . I would say go for p30 . It's less than 1800 now

I did use it before and it's pretty simple like G Drive. It supports WhatsApp backup too so that's good.

Nope. Looks like they only got Quick Apps, which is like a quick link to the mobile site... I think.

Exactly!! laugh.gif

Android = Google

Huawei OS is still based on Linux kernel like Android does but technically we can call their new OS as "Google Android emulator" .... like
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) minus Google Services.
