i try to check what is the latest Phillip Money market Fund interest rate, but found latest rate 2.7% for Mac 2020

Anyone knows where to check the rate for Apr or May 2020 ? Is it still around 2.5% or already below 2%?

Disadvantages of Money Market Funds
Now let's talk about the disadvantages of having your funds in a money market account.
Purchasing Power Can Suffer
If an investor is generating a 3% return in their money market account, but inflation is humming along at 4%, the investor is essentially losing purchasing power each year.

Expenses Can Take a Toll
When investors are earning 2% or 3% in a money market account, even small annual fees can eat up a substantial chunk of the profit. This may make it even more difficult for money market investors to keep pace with inflation. Depending on the account or fund, fees can vary in their negative impact on returns. If, for example, an individual maintains $5,000 in a money market account that yields 3% annually, and the individual is charged $30 in fees, the total return can be impacted quite dramatically.

$5,000 x 3% = $150 total yield
$150 - $30 in fees = $120 profit
The $30 in fees represents 20% of the total yield, a large deduction that considerably reduces the final profit. The above amount also does not factor in any tax liabilities that may be generated if the transaction were to take place outside of a retirement account.

I now use versa only. Last return on the app mentiond fund give 2.46%p.a On website said 2.4%. Very decent.

Stashaway is slow.
Versa is faster in withdrawal.
Not sure about liquidity for versa. Going to test soon. It's basically T+1 day.

Account opening is very easy. All from app.
*
I checked out StashAway thread, opened Account,i used desktop website.
dumped RM50k ,max from Jompay,
payout monthly, calculated daily not bad

T+3D, means on Thursday 25.2.21 i can see my deposit online?

I noticed StashAway used Citibank, so for faster time to receive the withdrawal money which bank (other than Citibank)
is better, any one?

(My experience with eUT PMMF, Maybank is the best, consistently received money by 5.00pm same day)

QUOTE(xander83 @ Feb 20 2021, 11:15 PM)
Make sure you check your account after 6pm next business day

Next weekend another payout coming soon  rclxms.gif

Versa payout weekly and Liquidity T+1 is better than StashAway, return same?

Now gonna check out Versa.

Anything about versa is they give overnight rates. Which means  when your money is stuck in limbo (between fpx and versa) you  still get paid.

QUOTE(xander83 @ Feb 21 2021, 01:38 AM)
No difference with any bank when withdrawal time because all are using FOX to transfer the money Fromm the trustee in Citibank

Stashaway simple calculation payout monthly while Versa payout every fortnight

Versa advantages only when deposit during weekend after Friday 12pm subjected extra overnight interest coupled next business day 6pm withdrawal time which is good if you need quick liquidity

Both are currently earning 0.2% per month waiting to see whether Versa can beat last year indicative of 2.46% which most likely will subjected to current OPR

Thanks for the info, so Versa is like SA return 2.4% with better liquidity and daily interest

where can i read about Versa in here, cant find the dedicated thread.

I find it safer to use link provided in here rather than search in google .

Addition overnight interest when money is in limbo.

Here you go.
https://versa.com.my/
Upon signing up you will get email from both versa and affin hwang.

I have always use mmf VS FD cause I like the liquidity that MMF give.
*
QUOTE(xander83 @ Feb 21 2021, 06:18 PM)
FD is only because it more accessible compared to MMF but it will be changing now due to more platforms are encouraging more MMF onboard
Because the amount is so small there is no need to time it a simple it doesn’t make any difference

But always make on Versa to deposit on every long weekend and the weekend that is not being offered payout ie 1st and 3rd weekend to enjoy extra overnight deposit  brows.gif

Thanks, already opened account with Versa on mobile Apps, Versa not accessible via Website?

Unlike Stashaway, Versa cannot make deposit straight away, must wait so many days!

Besides deposit Versa via FPX, can we deposit via JOMPAy like we can do for Stashaway?

No website available. Unfortunately.
I use a separate phone  for banking.

Can. Once account approved. Today Sunday. Wait for account to be approved (check your email). If not approved yet, of course cannot. I had to wait for my account to be approved.

Only FPX available.

Versa should follow SA accept Jompay to widen the nett for money

QUOTE(DragonReine @ Feb 21 2021, 07:15 PM)
This is a misunderstanding of how Versa and SA record their deposit. In practice their investing into MMF is the same number of days. Quoting my previous post on this:
*
Useful info even though not exactly related to what i ranted .

Useful fact -say you deposit RM$$$ on the same day for both SA and Versa, your deposit will be reflected on SA few days earlier than Versa.

However actual investment takes about the same number of days for both SA or Versa.
Use example do FPX RM1000 each to SA and Versa on Monday 22.2.21, and then withdraw same day 2 months later, assuming return for Versa and SA same rate, both profit from SA and Versa would be about the same, correct?

earlier I was saying SA very easy and convenient -open account, instantly account approved, and SA instantly can accept your deposits , FPX or Jompay.

Versa on the other hand, wont allow you to make deposit straight away, need many extra steps , submit IC, do selfie, asking for OTP and must wait for them to review, take few days it warned.

Any idea why Stashaway is like cincai cincai can open account, no need submit IC no need selfie, no need wait for approval
?SA no tight security, very eager to get people open account?
whereas Versa rather strict checking front and back before allow us to open account??

Everybody 2 weeks is the bonus payout as the fund uses it as a tool to rebalance the unit and price for it

The rate should be around 0.3 to 0.5 per annum indicative based on the current market price trend

So the actual fund it is performing on 1.9% pa on their pricing units

Will know after next month when q1 is done whether it will exceed 2% for 2021

*
so StashAway Simple is better? reported as 2.4% pa.

Simple is fixed indicative 2.4% but Versa is better in terms of liquidity as you when you withdraw is next businesses day

Reported doesn’t mean guaranteed as it is indicative rate only
Wait for TnG with CGS CIMB MMF soon then we will know whether it can hit 2.5% more competition better for us consumers  rclxms.gif

in that case SA better, while waiting for Versa to verify my newly opened account, i dumped more and more to SA.

QUOTE(keluarpattern @ Feb 22 2021, 02:35 PM)
Btw now you are using which for now?

Will it be any SOP if suddenly there's huge transaction in the account?
*
huge amount means? 500k or 1 M?

my newly opened Stashaway already pumped in JOMPAY 360k so far like that can get queried?
probably more tomorrow as Versa rate not so good , need to be scared meh?

Meaning there's might be quite some numbers o
of transaction within nearest time

Like 5-8 times transaction within 3 days

And each of that involving huge amount

And from and into different of accounts

Other than yourself.

QUOTE(xander83 @ Feb 22 2021, 09:10 PM)
Versa only take 3 days to open Andy process deposit hence better gains than Simple which takes a week which you loss of opportunity of gaining interest

Whoever dump 500k or 1million must be a cash rich person who don’t want to make more money because the gain starts on the upside will only hit 200 to 400 per month hence will be wiped out easily by inflation  doh.gif

TYPo it is way to go

KDI save is 3% pa until end of this year up to 200k and the money is held in trust by Pacific Trustee so very low chances it will goes bust
*
bro you are wrong, not 3%. is 3.5% 1st RM50k

QUOTE(alpha team @ Nov 3 2022, 02:41 PM)
say i havve 50k short term plan to put in MMF, which 1 is better now in term of  performance, stability, reputable?

is Versa good,  i little worry about will it go close down suddenly, not office to any 1.
*
Versa is not 100% everyone can get 4%
even though Versa CS would tell everyone can get 4%

It is based on First come first serve basis
and till the campaign budget run out then you will get 2.5% only

some more the interest calculation is convoluted , bonus in cash lar, pay out in Trust fund units etc,
and not come in all at 1 go.

and worse pay u end of the month only, by the time you kena 2.5% only you know
too late to move out

QUOTE(Aaron212 @ Nov 4 2022, 07:36 AM)
Versa because of the 4% ?

Can consider KDI 3.5% will be credited daily into your account so you can track profits
