Hi guys, so Im a Malaysian, working in Singapore and going to marry my wife who is a China citizen working in Singapore as well. As per the information I get from below website, I can actually apply for long term visa pass/spouse visa for her. It is because we wanted to buy a house in JB, and will she able to stay in Malaysia for a long period and travel in and out SG to work. So my question is as below, can anyone with experience answer me?

Is it hard to apply for the long term visa pass/spouse pass for her?

If lets say her ltvp approved, can she travel in between sg and malaysia frequently and still working in Singapore?

https://visaguide.world/asia/malaysia-visa/spouse/

Thanks in advance guys. If there is a more appropriate place for me to ask or more appropriate website for me to check, please enlighten me.

First time application is quite troublesome.
Read thru immigration website for the list of documents required and prepare accordingly.

Renewal will be easy, can be done in 2 hours, as now need to book appointment online instead of walk-in. Just renew yesterday.

Now is super peak due to MCO. Atleast until September.

Need to deal with LHDN/Putrajaya/Wisma Putra/Embassy/Immigration/Commissioner of Oath.

If you familiar with this places and understand read/write bahasa, then can apply yourself without agent.

The first application will be hard but not impossible.
My dad stays in Malaysia with the long term visa pass.
He does not work in Malaysia.
It will not impact her singapore work permit and she can stay in Malaysia within the permitted time but she wont be able to work in Malaysia.

It is usually easier for the wife to get a LTV than the husband.

I remember my parents had to renew the pass every 3 months , then it became every 6 months, 1 year and now he renews every 3 years.
It depends entirely on the immigration.

*To add
My parents applied everything themselves without the need of an agent

Get through the marriage process in Malaysia first. The immigration part is crucial. The rest is quite straight forward.

Thanks for the informative reply! So if I register my marriage in Malaysia, and it will be possible for me to apply the LTV pass for my wife, and she still can have her working visa in SG and work in SG right.

Thanks for the reply! For the application process, I will do some research and homework once I confirm that if my wife hold the LTVP, she still can work in SG and travel in and stay in Malaysia in the duration of the LTV pass.

Yes. As said earlier, comply with immigration requirements as they are the ones that will issue your future wife LTV.
Be prepared for some questions & answers session.

so i am assuming your fiance has an WP / EP / SPass in SG. Any Malaysia side immigration requirements will not replace / supersede SG requirements unless she becomes Malaysian citizen.

Note: If you are SG PR and she is WP it becomes messy on the SG side https://www.mom.gov.sg/faq/foreign-worker/a...manent-resident

Summary - SG let her in/out is SG process/ policies. MY let her in/out is MY process / policies.

Im holding EP and she holding SP and working in SG. So it wouldn’t have any problem right?

should be no problem. However the fact that she has likely not spend much time in Malaysia will likely cause difficulties for your marriage registration in Malaysia.

I assume both of you are currently based in Singapore for some time already. So first register the marriage in Singapore at Registry of Marriage (ROM) Singapore then within 6 months register at Malaysian High Comm in Singapore for the Malaysia marriage certificate.

https://www.kln.gov.my/web/sgp_singapore/birth_marriage_cert

This is only valid if a Malaysian married a foreigner only in Singapore.

Then you can slowly do the application for LTVP/social pass

Other countries you have do it in Malaysia itself - with your fiance have to first to get a social pass / visa and undergo scrutiny.

Wanted to ask some questions with regards to this, so i am digging back old posts

I am planning to apply for spouse visa/long term visit pass in Malaysia. From the IMI website, the documents below are required.

D. Spouse of Malaysian citizen
1. Form Imm.12/ Imm.55
2. Form Imm.38
3. Marriage Certificate
4. Child's Birth Certificate
5. Statutory Declaration marriage is still in effect
6. Security Bond which has been stamped with a RM10.00 revenue stamp
7. Sponsor/spouse identification card
8. Sponsor/spouse’s proof of income
9. 2 passport size photographs of husband and wife
10. Sponsor/spouse’s passport
11. Wedding photographs

Appreciate if you guys can advise on the following queries
1. How do we obtain the "Statutory Declaration marriage is still in effect" and "Security Bond which has been stamped with a RM10.00 revenue stamp" as per required above. Is there any form that we can download?
2. For the application submission, is it possible for us to submit the application forms and documents at johor immigration offices? Or we can only submit the application at Putrajaya?
3. Usually how long does it take to process the application?

Take few weeks

You will need to advance booking slot to do it.

Very hard to get the slot hence do it in advance as early ad possible

And the location is base on your IC

So if your IC address still shows your kampung (I.e penang), do update your IC address first if you wish to apply it in klang valley

Tried avoid KL thou, cause they are the strictest one and usually only grant 6 months visa for first timer
