This few days...alot of my applications seems cannot work. my firefox cannot be execute, it will just blink blink at the docking area and then just fade away. now i found out that my Photoshop CS2, Microsoft Office 2004 also not working!!!! Re-installation will not help. I think it is the coding problem.

As for the firefox, I have to disable the Rosetta then only I can run on my Mac OS X

But I can't do anything for the rest of my applications. Anyone face this problem?

Help needed. Thanks

It helps if your provide more info of your system. Like whether you are running Intel Mac, or Power PC?

For example, if you are on Intel, you shouldn't have Rosetta set as default to open Firefox. Firefox is already Universal whereas Photoshop CS2 and Office would need Rosetta. So my guess is there's something wrong with your Rosetta.

Yes, there's something wrong with Rosetta. I'm running on Intel Mac. It happens when I updated my Itunes and to 10.4.10.

@kevler

From the couple of time I have seen of this one it has been permissions being broken so before anything else give it the old mac universal fix:

Run Disk Utility:
Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app

Then select your Harddisk and hit repair permissions.

If you are unable to run Disk Utility this way you can boot off your install CD, put it in, reboot and hold down C on the keyboard till it boots. When the installer begins open Disk Utility from the menubar at the top of the screen.

Its not a guaranteed fix but its being giving good results for me smile.gif

Could try to "Rebuild Prebindings" and reboot. You can do that with either Onyx or Tiger Cache Cleaner. Worth a try I guess.

to fix the problem:

1. Using DiskUtility I verified my hard drive and repaired permissions.
2. I downloaded the 10.4.10 Combo Installer onto my desktop (from support site, NOT through Apple Update).
3. Booted into Safe Mode (by holding down Shift key during restart).
4. Immediately did the 10.4.10 install in safe mode.
5. Rebooted.
