TLDR :
>Elderly mom has one extra phone which she subscribed to a 2 year plan
>Forgot 2 year plan expired
>I called on April just to inquire how to extend but was not told when it expires
>Phone remains off for a few more weeks , Opened Phone again to a message saying that I must visit a Blue Cube store by 7th May (It's mco though)
>Calls Celcom to ask them if anything they can do
>They Say No

Just wanna share what happened and a PSA to everyone

No point crying over spilled milk .....

Most telco will no longer reactivate terminated prepaid numbers ... its a MCMC directive to all telco about 2 years ago ...

Such a pity this lesson costs you rm600 but even you makes a complain for 600 times you will not get anything .... the SOP is if a prepaid number is terminated then the balance is forfeit ... if still in grace period then just reload and carry on but this most probably be way past grace period ....

No matter whichever telco, they do exactly the same thing .... once number is terminated then the balance forfeits ...

Hmmm .....

Im a bit confused, expired meaning still can receive call/sms but just cannot make call/sms is it? aka grace period? in that case just reload cannot meh?

If expired as in cannot even receive call/sms that means amount inside will be gone case already right? Why still need to go blue cube?

Active period is when you can still make call. When active period over. Grace period is from when not active to termination date. After terminate gone already lo. Maxis/Hotlink grace period is 3 months. Then even after termination, still can manually ask to reactivate 3 times. Don't know about Celcom.

Most importantly, if the number haven't been recycled, you can still try to activate it. Just plead humanity for the elderly mother.

If you're managing more than one prepaid SIM, always set yourself reminders as various deadlines approach. What's the point of having a smartphone when you don't make full use of its features?

They did offer to "try" and get the number back, however they said they would not give the credit back

If Celcom prepaid , you’re given another 10 days to top up .
But must top up RM30 to get the line unbarred.

its your fault why complaint to MCMC?

There is a message tell you validity expired to reload. Then also informed you termination but you didnt take action.

Terminated you blame telco.

Usually once terminated hard to get back the number unless they offer you to convert to postpaid for a certain month to maintain after that period you can change to prepaid.

i finally got a respond after bugging them on call centres and facebook then call to mcmc and chase for progress. Still, it is a month of constant chasing. The promise will give me an explaination of their poor attitude.
