Due to MCO my sister did not renew her data (hotlink) because most of the time she was using wifi at home only. Recently she started working but forgot to renew her data plan, but before she could remember to renew it she got charged as per following. How to deactivate this auto charge? For my own package, my speed is reduced but not auto charged when my data plan is over and if I tried to use the data. But for her case, this is different and the pay per use is auto deducted.

Seems like old plan to me.. I mean old number...

Ask sister to check which plan she on?

Which one to upgrade? Or can my sister go to hotlink/maxis centre to request for upgrade to hotlink fast 3.0 (or is this plan also no more?)?

no need change plan. just buy a data plan , and wait it activated b4 u claim or using any FREE data (u can still using your data plan ,even your account in grace period. they r separate)
or just simply leave the "free data" alone (including the free birthday data)...
ur sister consider lucky. coz they had set the RM10 per day hard cap..
they used to be "eat" all your money in your account within a few seconds.

about the "bagus plan" , it is an old plan that can buy validity365 ..
u can see many posts, from times to times, many people r begging for changing to this plan, but fail.
and yet, u r consider to "get rid of" it?

if u r not using the data, just turn of the mobile data from the phone.

btw, the decisions is yours.

Basically how to disable the auto charge function? for my current plan they only reduce the speed which to me that’s reasonable compared to auto charge RM10 per day.

and turn it back , when u want to use it (ensure u buy a data plan, and get activated , before turn on the mobile data)

understood, what i meant to ask earlier is in case if the data is finished, or what if my sis forgets the data needs to be renewed, is that a way to avoid this auto charge.

for myself i will know if i need to renew when i realise the speed is suddenly super slow.

I am on their ‘Bagus’ too. Never buy any data plan too. Purely to receive calls or making calls (rarely also).

Then I use another unlimited data prepaid sim on mifi to surf. So far so good.

But this nov I want to switch my home broadband to the hotlink broadband that comes with postpaid mobile plan of unlimited calls/sms with 10GB + 10GB (YouTube) and 30Mbps home broadband for only RM99/month.

so, how did your sister manage to survive that long with this plan??
no other way..the only way is plan smartly, and use wisely..
unless she just replaced her old old phone with new android phone.

then, please be noticed:
newer android version have the function that automatic switch to mobile data while your wifi signal is low.
so, please checking your phone's wifi advance setting , and ensure it is disabled (sth called, intelligent assitant or what, u would recognize it when u see it).

There are plans older than 'Bagus' and still got active users...

haha as i mentioned in my first post due to MCO she was only using wifi from home. no data required.

you said there’s no other way but how come for my plan there is no such thing as auto charge like hers?

if you also using hotlink, then u must be using newer plan that come with "free basic internet"
so, u don't kena ppu charge.

"free basic internet" and "validity365" don't like each other.

If my memory serve me right, the hotlink fast plan is the first plan(of hotlink) that come with "free basic internet",
and mean while , u could buy validity365. and then hotlink remove the "validity365" support from the fast plan(ya, created a lot of noise).
and then their newer plan no more "validity365" as well.. only got "free basic internet"..

but u have to topup your account each month to stay alive ,so that u can use your internet plan u bought.
if your account in grace period, u cannot use your internet anymore..

edit@2020.05.22: correction: #Hotlink is the first plan with "free basic internet",not Fast Plan .. yet, Fast Plan is the only plan that come with both benefit for a very short time.

of course those with "free basic internet" Maxis cannot give 365 validity, otherwise how to make $$

Those old plans with validity 365 like gold Not available to public to subscribe anymore.



I also kena RM10 because forgot to off Mobile data.

I just kena today. but I notice from my balance I was charged RM5 only instead of the RM10. Got discount?

why not, they can provide some thing called "free basic internet lite" that user won't be charged, but also cannot connect to internet without buying internet plan.
obviously they want to "leech" your money ...

u consider lucky lah..maybe they now giving u a first time warning , please don't pushing too hard..
If u think they don't charge u enough, u may try again to see if got deduted RM10 or not..
