I contacted a seller on Shoppee and he said if use Global ROM cant get firmware update and suggest using CHINA ROM instead. Is this true?

Guys, I ordered a Redmi K30/Poco F2 non-pro version that comes in China ROM for my father. It comes with Google Playstore. Should I flash it to Global ROM or it is fine if I stay in China ROM?
