I see... I am glad that this thread have you, no one seems to want to talk about ETF on Bursa ever, so I really appreciate the insight.

When you mention you don't hold ETF long enough, do you mean you buy them only when you expect short-mid term trend will cause that ETF to grow, then let go after when you think the growth is/has stopped?

I've seen you express your preference in TradePlus S&P New China Tracker a few times in this thread, do you have any two cents about getting into it now? I feel like it'll continue to have a rally given current economic situation in China. I do plan to simply buy and hold for 10+ years, but I am not as sure anymore after going through the thread.

Is there any particular reason you like New China Tracker but not Principal FTSE China 50 ETF?

Not that nobody wants to talk about bursa etf.
Just that local etf are not as attractive compared to other stuff out there.
Just taking one example, a lot of people are not excited about the large spread between buy and sell prices due to the extremely low volume of trade for the etfs.
I did a quick search just now. There seems to be some volume nowadays but about a year ago there were virtually no volume on those etfs that I was considering.

Can I know why volume matters on ETF?

It trades like a normal stock as far as I know.
Do let me know why you think volume is not important for etf?

Hmm, from my (very beginner) understanding, unlike other stocks, volume does not indicate momentum, interest, minimally affect bid-ask spreads, or even if they do, they applies to simply too much stock in the basket for them to be meaningful.

I would suppose the scariest part of low volume stock meant its extremely illiquid and very hard to sell, but for ETFs, market makers are mandated to create/sell and buy shares at a reasonable fair price at all times, so there won't even be a scenario where I have to sell but I couldn't, or if I wanted to buy but there isn't any.

Other than being extremely boring and unexciting, I can't see what's wrong buying into low volume MYR domiciled ETF yet, but I am happy to learn and be corrected, since I am REALLY really new at this.

Hmmm this is interesting, thanks for sharing that information. if thats the case, there are a few etfs that can look at again hahaha.

Dang, all my ChinaETF is in red now. Should I sell now and buy again when it's lower?

sounds like a plan. Just one question, do you know when is the bottom to buy back?
