Do I need to get some battery pack and attach to my existing CANON SPEEDLITE 420EX flash unit? Or do I need a special camera as well?
Multiple flash function, like the paparazzi. How to get?

QUOTE(shipal @ Jul 29 2007, 05:42 PM) Do I need to get some battery pack and attach to my existing CANON SPEEDLITE 420EX flash unit? Or do I need a special camera as well? Well, you just need fresh batteries and use much higher ISO on your camera to make the recharging faster. The logic is, the ISO will improve lighting, thus less power is needed from the flash. And as a result reducing recycling time, you get to burst your flash faster.Or you can invest on this ![]() ![]() http://www.qtm.com/QuantumBatteries/?conte...280&res_set=yes http://www.penncamera.com/store/item.asp?I...PARTMENT_ID=428 It's an external powerpack for external flashes that will improve recycling power of the flash. But it costs a lot. RM750+ for the battery pack and RM250 for the cable that connects to the flash. I think you can hardly find this in Malaysia. need to import. May I know what camera are you using with this flash? This post has been edited by calvin_gsc: Jul 29 2007, 06:09 PM |

I'm using old Canon G2 digicam. Am thinking of going to EOS SLR models next.
Looking at the pic of the battery pack, the cable is compatible with any flash units? The end part doesn't seem to be match. |

Every flash unit has it's own cable for the Quantum battery unit.Looking at the pic of the battery pack, the cable is compatible with any flash units? The end part doesn't seem to be match. Well, the pictures can only give you a fair amount of clarity. EOS slr or DSLR? |

QUOTE(shipal @ Aug 1 2007, 08:39 PM) I never mention that the flash comes with the cable. What i meant earlier was that, every flash model has a diff cable that you will need to purchase to use it with the quantum unit. This post has been edited by calvin_gsc: Aug 1 2007, 08:52 PM |

Your current flash is much faster than your current camera, i.e, it can recycle faster than your camera can sync the flash and shutters.
Invest in a better camera first than the battery pack |
