hi , just asking /k ever got this experience o not, usually average water bill at my home is just RM5-RM15, but last month (april) it shoots up to RM50. the patterns of water usage is more or less the same or not that much. should i suspect a leakage somewhere or how?

U sure not because due to MCO, u stay at home more and longer period of time, therefore more water usage?

If u suspect water leakage, u off all your pipe at home, see the water meter still jalan or not. If jalan, conlanfirm got leakage somewhere

Could be underground leaking. Happened to me. Had to call plumber do new piping from mains to tank and kitchen.

Yo my bill is also RM50 for this month. It's an estimated reading due to MCO.

My mom's small apartment syabas bill charged up to RM20,000. I kid you not! It was 20 GRAND! I called and emailed to Syabas. Everything back to normal after that.

Estimated bill during pkp or u live in Selangor the rebate for water had been removed starting from march 2020.

More washing n cooking. I had 2 problems with water leakage. One in drainage part of my bathroom. Stopped showering there. Then another one... pipe joint leaking above my parents bathroom ceiling. Lucky discovered before it damage the wardrobe n flooring. Now 2 bathrooms out of commission....

Damn... that sounds like it's going to involve hacking to repair!

Yes, it's estimated reading. THey based on average over 12 months.

I imagine there will be lots of problem when they adjust.

Past (6/3/2020)- 4263
New (7/4/2020)- 4570 (increase of 307 over 1 month)

but house meter reading (6/5/2020)- 4345 over >1 months (increase of 82)
*above all documented with pictures in case air selangor want evidence

Called up Air Selangor, they said is estimated water usage for my house and they billed me.
Told me they will take physical reading after MCO.

I suggest people to read their meter.
Their practices of "estimation" and then billing you is so

everyone struggling and they take the opportunity rip people (趁火打劫/chèn huǒ dǎ jié/loot a burning house)

If people dah pay and realised meter over-read, i doubt they will return money,
they will surely say, excess amount will be credited into your account, aka let them keep money, they win.

you can try lodge complain by calling them
2 english>2 report water meter reading>1 sure confirm no leaking>enter account number>
>1 lodge complain for meter reading - you have successfully lodged, push you back to main menu
>2 talk to Customer service - directly hang up phone

I had to select inquire of new services and the customer service lady pretend tak tau they set auto hang up phone during report
then they only admit meter is estimated from their side, then they bill based on that estimate.
How they estimate? god knows how.

Strange. No matter how many times I take my bath everyday, it will never exceed RM5/mth.

Damm! I'm gonna have to check my bills this month.

My average water usage/bills is around RM8 to RM15/mth.

Find and fix water leakage la.
Me? Just rm18 during mco. Slightly higher than normal.
Then again, only me wife & me using water most of the time.

Funny thing about water bill in my state. Since the bills was not sent by post, the meter reader had to physically placed the bills into the mailboxes. N yet somehow they still want to do estimated reading. Since you are already there, why not just do realtime reading? Very funny indeed.

in Selangor area, is it normal to have water usage for house around rm 20-40 ringgit per month. (during MCO period)
I am worry of leakage as my house previously had some leakage issue but the plumber cant seems to find the source, then surprisingly for the next few months it back to average of 12-18 per month.

by the way the house live about 6-7 person.

Just called SYABAS today to ask about the RM8xx bill (normally RM36 je) we got. It's an office space. Offices were not suppose to open during MCO.

TL;DR - they said it's "anggaran", they'll give normal reading bills when the meter guys can go out. Was told to ignore the 3 digit bill and wait for the new bill.

so we no need to pay?

If you got money to pay your 3, 4 digit bill, go ahead, but I'm gonna hold off on mine for sure lol. I would wait for actual bill la.

I stay in condo. Constant rm20-23 per month for 2 person. No changes.

As mentioned previously, we still do not know how they estimate their water usage during MCO.
below is the latest bill received over such long period of time, water usage only RM33.10 only.

My bill increased 1500% from Rm6/mth previously. Already complaint thru the apps, nothing happen(that was more than a week ago). What i need to do next?

just wait for new physical meter reading, the new bill will reflect new amount as the bill i posted.
