you mention you've been using it for 1 year + 10 months?
so  assume you bought it around 2018.

mine bought 2016 april. secretlab throne v2 green.
that time also no option to choose fabric version.

and if, even the one bought at 2018 also same issue,
then this mean they never even bother to improve their product.
what ever "improvement" they mention is pure BS.

i argue with them in both SC and fb page, how come a chair at that price become like this within a year of usage.
their reply is "owh sorry to hear that, but you can get replacement by paying XXX SGD" , i say NO unless you give me for free, then they goes silent . this really piss me off.

previously got one lowyat member reply something like "oh you should stop complain , just pay up and get the replacement part, and replace the spoil part", and "oh their SC is nice!" ... of course they are nice, they are SELLING you replacement part ! some how that reply that quote me is now gone, good thing that pos realize how shitty that reply is.

this kind of consumer is the exact reason why we still getting rubbish product.

some people just fail to notice they are being duped with an inferior product, which was made to make you pay more.

my chair become something exactly like below, just imagine it is green.

Mine too... 1 year and 10 months or so, it start to crack at part that we don't actually touched/used/in contact. Contacted them, they offered me the same thing, replacement part at XXX SGD to MYR will be this XXX price... they want to sell me 2018 version...

Back when i first bought it, i noticed the seams teared ( stitching ) on the seat base, i posted on their FB page and later offered a FREE seatbase at no cost which is really good, they let kept the old one too . Since the seatbase is still basically new, i stiched it back myself ( about a 5 cm wide gap ).... and choose to kept the spare seat i recieved in a box. Years later, when my seatbase start to crack, i tried to use the ' spare new seat base ' one i kept years ago, and noticed the side and the center already shows tiny signs of cracking!

then later my backrest side bolster at first show signs of crack at the lower corner near our waist, and it escalated later. since i lazy to argue again with them, i took it to reupholster, and cost me 200 to replace the side piece, and the center piece, the older seat base ( center )... then few weeks later, the other side of backrest cracked too, it kind of harden then crack... i think.

and i bought a backrest new from FB, replace it then sell it away and get a softweave one. Really don't wanna go through anything PU ever again, be it 2.0, 3.0 , or even 30.0 ver of PU.

my gosh , really admire your effort to fix your chair, but still , if you think about it, base on your statement, there is no doubt they are giving us an inferior product , where part of it is design to not last.

i can understand things like sofa , after years of usage, sofa become old and require some replacement for the cover, this i accept.

but if some part that is only used for a short period of time, or not even being used much (part that we dont even sit on), but ady start to crack or chip, this show how low the quality of these Secretlab chair, especially the covering part.

for secretlab chair, all these smells like planned obsolescence ,especially those with PU cover. and to keep your chair away from obsolete , one must either pay for their replacement , or do something like you did , go and get the cover changed.

yeah, so now i left with both the 1st bought backrest and seatbase which i repaired but end up not the same as original , still in my cabinet without armrest, wheelbase, reclining mechanism and wheels. not to worry, i've got Softweave to sit on now..

They also mentioned that our climate (both Singapore/Malaysia as far as i know ), is humid, so PU crack.... lol... but if that's so.... why do car's seat PU ( original upholstery from factory ) last longer , my car Vios 2014 already 6 years, used daily, exposed to UV, heat, more humid, didn't crack? They left with no words and then apologized.

So in the end, Fabric still triumph over PU. I also learned that Soft-touch material like what Secretlab marketed as PRIME PU 2.0, is still the same thing , all those lab test is non-existent, and doesn't prove real world usage, and in time, it will crack cause the black/colored PU is so thin.

bought the chair fabric version since last month, hopefully will last long.

however, still cant find a comfortable seating position with the lumbar & neck pillow. on the other hand, no more back pain while working from home.

maybe I just need to get used to the 'correct' posture seating position..
*
It will last bro, it doesn't crack like PU. I kept the pillow in cabinet, although they feel nice, it kept getting in the way.

Your's Omega, i assume?

how is the comfort of secretlab chair compare to vios chairseat?

i have no problems sitting on a car seat for hours. But some reviewers say SL chairs are very stiff canot sit for hours.
*
More or less the same sitting experience.... they are used to sponge type i guess.... the SecretLab chair are very comfortable.

Nak share pada yang pakai kerusi secretlab bila dah terkopek pu dia especially yang model dari  2018 ke bawah. Pakai sejak feb 2018

Bilik xde aircond, dinding kene matahari petang2, pakai xberpeluh, sebulan sekali lap dgn conditioner leather utk kerete. Even kat atas kepala pun boleh terkopek, bukan ade peluh pun kat situ 🤦‍♂️

Bulan februari contact secretlab tanya ape option ade bila kerusi dah kopek2 macam ni..dia offer salin kulit utk backrest and seat dgn bayaran sgd139 siap postage, guna material baru prime pu yang katanya tahan 4x ganda dari model lama, tapi amek masa dua bulan sebab kene custom made baru, so aku terima je la..barang dah ready baru bayar

Dalam tempoh menunggu 2 bulan tu, aku tny sekali arm rest dah kopek2 and goyang mcm mane? Dia offer ganti arm rest baru..aku pun on

Aku kata jugak gas hydraulic ni kadang2 turun sendiri..dia pun offer ganti baru jugak..dia tunjuk video tny reti tak bukak sendiri..aku cakap xde tools..dia kata xpe, dia bagi sekali base and tilt tu, so aku xyah bukak..

So lepas cukup tempoh menunggu semua barang pun sampai and smlm baru la siap ganti semua..so yg pakai balik dari kerusi lama hanya roda 5x dengan plastic adjust height and tilt

Sad news is parts lama semua kene pulang balik 🤦‍♂️

TLDR: Bayar sdg139 utk dapat kerusi baru lepas 2 tahun

Haha will do bro, need to put in calender for reminder 😅

Owh and btw, maybe sebab leceh they decided to have me throw away all the parts. So i just need to find 4 screws and 5 wheels to complete the chair 🤣
*
Don't ever throw away, it's still perfectly fine , the steel frame and the cold-cure foam...... You can try bring it to furniture repair shop, or car upholstery , and ask them to make it in fabric.... and you can choose one that is 90% close to softweave.

Screws? Take one from your chair and bring to Bolt/Nuts/Screw store and have them source for you. usually, it's universal unless the screw threads is custom made only for Secretlab.

Wheels can be found online, but don't go for the roller blade... they don't last. EVER. it break cause the center of gravity is too much for a single wheel and pressure when you glide.

You can find wheels from Mr.DIY or Shopee... the stems size are universal.

Oh.... same like in Mr.DIY ones... i couldn't find bigger one like those XL sizes Secretlab uses... it must be somewhere. Bigger ones glide nicer.

>pvc
>expect it to last
Lol
That's why you buy fabric.
*
lol... the thing is the chair price , I used to own PU version too.... it lasted only 1 year and 10 months or so.... and starting to show tiny cracks at unused place. Sold it away before it escalated to unwanted even if selling.

I believe it was due to thin PU coating layer on the chair... Car's more robust and exposed to more UV rays, heat, sweat, all that but last better than a thousand ringgit chair. For the price we paid, it must be good and long lasting , like car's PU chair, but it didn't even last , my car PU chair is over 6 years, used daily, shine with hot sun, didn't even crack! Only the back and seat with holes are real leather, the other pieces is PU (Fake leather) but that too didn't crack and peel like Secretlab....

So i sold it away, and bought SoftWeave.

as Markus fabric owner for almost 3 years.

i got neck pain because not enough support of the headrest ( that's why secretlab provides pillow, else totally the same)

so it really depends on the person.

and i tested 2020 series recently. it cover neck and i got pain relief.

in additional, i tested steelcase, secretlab and tomaz gaming chair.

secret lab is the most comfortable for me, (personal ranking: secretlab > steelcase > tomaz)

i will choose softweaver version rather than PU ( i'm worry abt the skin peeling off)
*
I uses Softweave..... and it's very good. Comfortable.

and have bad experience with PU, Peeling is due to chemical reaction between sweat and the bonding glue between PU and the underlayer. Cracking usually start first , due to humidity. Once it cracks, it will peel afterward.
