Hi all,

I need to get a new phone, and I want your advice since I have not been following the mobile scene for a while.

My criteria (a bit different from what reviewers always focus on):
* OS/Security updates (longevity)
* Storage size

Things I'm not concerned about:
* Camera quality
* Screen technology
* Bells and whistles

In terms of size, the smaller the better, but I believe (good) small phones don't exist now.

----------------------
* My first phone was an iPhone 4, but security updates were quickly cut when iOS 7 (IIRC) started to support 4s and above only.  I was pissed.
* I then moved to Nexus due to the longevity hype and latest OS, but was really disappointed when Google ended up with the policy of supporting phones for 3 years only.  Again, pissed.

I heard from my friends that iPhone 6 is still getting updates.  The reason being that phones  in recent years have gotten good enough that it can still support today's OS.  Man, I regret getting the Nexus now.

So, in 2020, I'm currently looking at the 2020 SE.  It uses the same latest processor, so I think the phone can last for 6-7 years?  The only concern I have is the small battery, which probably means lesser charge-discharge cycles, so the 6-7 years benefit could be killed by a dead battery anyway.  (But I think I can stock up on a spare battery now, and change it 7 years later?)

Any better alternatives out there?

iPhone 11, no doubt.
