Hi, I want to ask if harnesses & harness bar is street legal?

I have an old car that lacks quite some safety features. Since there's no airbag and it's illegal to install roll cage, I have to find an alternative way to increase my safety. So I thought of installing harnesses in my car just to be a little safer

If it's illegal, mind suggest any aftermarket car safety feature that is legal to install it on a street car

Adding more harness bar does not mean extra safety. You just make your car chassis more stiff and less flex. If chassis too stiff, direct impact of anything will direct transfer the force to you. That why you see why most race car with harness bar & roll cage need to wear helmet, bucket seat & 3~4 point safety belt. As helmet is the one that will help absorb the impact & protect your head, bucket seat & safety belt to hold you in case of any impact.

Add stiffness is more of a roll cage job. Harness bar doesn't really add stiffness to your chassis. It's just a bar at the back of the seat to hold the harnesses. Plus I would rather have a strong and stiff frame than letting my car frame crush me to death
