Thanks to MCO, I finally bought Roland FP30 as suggested by forumer here and a very long research/reading on the internet. I never try both Yamaha and Roland though. So I randomly purchase thru lazada and came a bit late, after few days (due to covid).

After few weeks, I noticed the piano is kinda not for me.

1. The on-board speaker is not nice
- last time I had Yamaha PSR-something and I remember it has very bright sound, compared to this RM3k value piano which i think could sound better? I have to go to the shop and test the P125 to confirm this
-luckily i normally use the headphone when playing so I don’t really bother

2. There are 3 grand piano sounds and multiple adjustment such as ambiance and brilliance but any of the setting does not satisfy my pleasure, or maybe it’s just me

3. The smartphone apps could not connect
- at first trial, I couldn’t connect even after few device reboots (both) and apps reinstall
- i managed to connect after few days

4. The key is quite heavy
- your fingers kinda tired/pain after 10 minutes of playing, definitely not for casual player like me and you can’t play fast

5. The key is slippery
- i often wipe my hands before play but i think the key is the caused
- slip especially when hitting sharp key, sigh

Anyhow, I enjoyed playing with FP30 despite the dissatisfaction I had after few weeks of usage. Maybe it needs a lil bit of tame?

Like i mentioned, the key is quite slippery, therefore when you play especially quite a distance between notes (and fast) you might slip. I'm not sure if this answer your question

its an entry level roland lol, don't expect wonders, but if u are coming from a midi keyboard to weighted keys there will some getting used to

still, the supernatural engine on roland should sound good exporting through a good pair of headphone, try that

in my opinion

sound - roland
touch - casio
worth for money - casio

stay away from yamaha digitals, they sucked bad, unless u talking about the high end clavinovas or the stage pianos costing around 10k

so for my digital i got a casio privia midi out to an imac running pianoteq with a pair of old home theater speaker i hooked up to an amplifier to. huge set up but sounds good.

but real acoustic piano > all, nothing can replicate the touch of an acoustic

Well i dont expect it to be like the real grand piano. But still i enjoy the piano and everyday i got practice biggrin.gif

True, using headphone sounds better compared using the on board, i seldom using the onboard though.

I was thinking to connect with speakers too, maybe later.

I am not T20 can afford those acoustic pianos sad.gif

ahaha, there are cheap used uprights too around 4-5k

long term investment i think, i really developed bad habits starting on digitals as it is much more forgiving eg tonal decay is much shorter on a digital than real acoustic, hence u can sustain longer and it will still sounds okay, try that on a real acoustic u get incredibly muddy sound
