QUOTE(storm88 @ Jul 30 2007, 09:21 PM) wow.. look at the cost.. that make me @.@ already Some of the items are one-time purchase and could be re-used. If you already have the tools, building a phase change cooling will be cheap. Just need to spend around RM500 - RM600. How about that?

Perhaps 1/3HP will be sufficient for a modest -20c) , A suction hose (copper braided ones is best but cost a lot - another alternative is just use copper pipes....but the downside is that its not flexible - can save a a few hundred $$$ here) , CPU evaporator (Use a copper block 2"(L) X 2"(W) X 1"(H) and a copper plate 2" X 2" X 3mm) , cappilary tube (Use 0.031mm diameter cap tube) , filter/Drier , some access valve.

Yes slightly more than a good WC kit but temps very very much better. I've already poisoned Kerryking into phase cooling already. This post has been edited by extremeocer: Aug 3 2007, 12:34 AM

high price to maintain this stuff. not to mention the time to setup. @TS, thanks for the efford to bring this up.

Other than that its really cheap...just like setting up a top of the line WC system but with much much better temps.

i think maintanance oso not much... my room a/c only service once a year... hahaha... but really, i need to consider how to pack it nice n can send over to sabah... sending over doesn't cost much... rm180 per square meter... rm500 to rm600 enuf to build a phase change??? i have a wc system now... but phase change only good by little xtra??? hmmm... i never have the time to build 1 (oso lack of knowledge, chemistry idiot here)...

With sub zero temps, you have no fear running high vcore. With air and water 1.5v to 1.6v is already considered too much...but with phase, 1.8v is nothing.

i see... then one more question..
then, when it is that cold... dont the whole mounting including the cooling system pipes come out water because it is so cold ?

Thats why you can see there is insulation on the mobo...front and back. Copper pipes also insulated to prevent condensation. That's not all....under the cpu has also dielectric grease. All this steps is a must to ensure a smooth journey to high clocks

I'll let you know if it does ! I wonder if after all this you can play the latest games on max settings, maybe if you do this to the GPU as well (and then there's the RAM, and all the MOSFETs and whatnots I'd love to run WiC or Lost Planet smoothly just once... that must be some experience This post has been edited by wodenus: Sep 15 2007, 11:35 AM
