Hi,

I’m interested to be an online seller on those shopping app such as lazada, shopee and etc

But really curious where does those seller get their supply from? Im not a creative person, I didnt came up with my own product or brand so i just wanted to sell things that consumer needs for their car.

Some sellers in lazada o lnly dropship from taobao.

So sellers are helping china sellers to promote and sell in malaysia market?

But by doing so, delivery time could take some time right since they have to ship from China all the way to Malaysia?

The supplies are shipped directly from the Taobao/ China seller to the buyer (not the seller on LZD).

To put it simply:
1) ABC is a Taobao seller.
2) Malaysian LZD seller XYZ wants to take ABC's entire stock for dropshipping.
3) XYZ promotes on the LZD platform and secures purchases from Malaysian waterfishes customers like you and me.
4) ABC receives the purchase orders and payments and directly sends the items to the buyers. XYZ receives a commission from each sale.

2. How does ABC receive purchase order? Can The 2 platform LZD and Taobao linked together?

1) Yes, with permission from ABC

2) Since LZD is under Alibaba's management, I believe that's a yes. So ABC is updated in real time whenever XYZ closes a sale.

Why dont ABC ownself advertise in LZD and sell? without dropship they earn more

Good question. Either they they prefer to focus only on their own local market or they're fine with cooperating with multiple sellers from Malaysia to quickly liquidate their inventories; win-win.

ABC does less job and earn less money (from XYZ's sales) but hey, ABC's supplies are moving across the world without setting up a store in those places or platforms. Meanwhile XYZ earns some side income.

I mean I tried to visit the online store of ABC but couldnt find a chat button where I can negotiate and discuss about this idea.

Nope, but I did read it up before since the term has been showing up for the past few years.

If you're familiar with affiliate marketing, both are very similar except you don't set the prices for AM

I would advice you to not start on Shoppee or Lazada as Malaysian consumers are quite familiar with tao bao and aliexpress etc. Hence your margin will be extremely low. This is also before accounting for your marketing spend or payment provider commission.

Instead I would suggest that you try drop shipping overseas to countries that have stronger spending power and whose residents are either not familiar with Tao Bao/Aliexpress etc, or just don't want to deal with these Chinese companies directly. That way you have a bigger opportunity to increase your margins both from selling at a higher price, and also from currency conversion.

But do spend some time in learning what makes a good e commerce store and what's especially important is that you have a grasp on FB ads and other marketing channels. All these c an be learnt without spending money on ridiculously priced courses. Go to Facebook groups, or Youtube channels are your first point of call.

I'm don't think you understood me correctly. I never said auto accessories isn't a good idea

I'm saying, whatever products you're selling, try selling it overseas rather than in Malaysia

yep. same as you order things from china in taobao. but you hav to admit, things there are cheap and most of things sold in the world are made in china. i used to order bul from china and sell to local traders. still can make money.
