then forget about it, you probably cant check the shutter count. IIRC, canon will go back to 0001 after it reaches 9999 photos. And if you clear your card, it will also go back to 0001

You should be able to see the shutter count in the "EXIF" tab, under the title "Total Number of Shutter Release for Camera". Highly doubt you can miss it.

Reading some of the previous replies.. i think they might be right that for a compact like the G7 there might not be a shutter count since the camera does not have a mechanical shutter like a DSLR (correct me if im wrong though). hmm.gif

Perhaps you had reset your file numbering. try continue numbering.

 

Change to:
| Lo-Fi Version
0.0175sec    0.48    5 queries    GZIP Disabled
