QUOTE(Vervain @ Apr 22 2020, 01:00 PM) I would say wrong timing to push the brand as high as the flagship players. while I do acknowledge Xiaomi has its own uniqueness they are still far from bring premium quality phones to the market. how many phones offer stainless steel material as opposed to cheap aluminium. If Xiaomi wants to steal the lime light not he premium segment, they need to offer something special apart from specs. last time xiaomi used ads and their own service to cover back the small profit they had for every phone sold.are their phone still plague with ads anymore? if not, then they probably asking for higher margin now. do note, that snapdragon 865 is expensive, high refresh rate super amoled is expensive, glass back design are expensive, having multiple camera sensor are expensive too, same goes with wireless charging implementation they are not going to compromise on those for their flagship phone, if want cheap, go for redmi models. |

QUOTE(Emimarson @ Apr 22 2020, 01:04 PM) Lol, this is expected since they separated Mi and Redmi. People out there only saw 1 brand only, which is Xiaomi.Last time Mi flagship handicap by budget strategy, then they separate Mi and Redmi, now Redmi can get Snapdragon 800 series which was only mid range before. So Mi is now to compete with flagships without cut cost limitations, and Redmi to replace Mi budget flagship as flagship killer. They don't give a damn about the brand separation. And Xiaomi is known for its affordable/cheap smartphone. You can't take away the customer mindset on that. Xiaomi put high price until RM4K also people will look down as a cheap brand. |

QUOTE(Zanei Gundan @ Apr 22 2020, 12:11 PM) you can use that comparison to any normal buyers out there so do u have pixel device?but some specific users, like me. know what we get and what are we expected to pay for we are willing to pay that price as long as it is still reasonable to our wallet, just for that pixel experience you got problem with that? |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Bought Mi 9 Lite and it's a crappy phone. The Data Signal frequently drop, and cannot find the root cause of the issue. Will not go for Xiaomi phone in the future |

still lacks IP67/68 though (I often take my phone to the swimming pool to capture photos of my children underwater).
also, 90Hz screen not really flagship territory anymore... upper mid-range maybe, but a lot of the main flagships offer 120Hz or even more. |
