I just read your article ( http://tanji.me/mobile-computing/the-right...the-right-work/ ) and it helped me a lot. In fact, your whole blog is excellent! thumbup.gif

But 1 question, I notice many games like need for speed have a minimum/recommended requirement of something like this http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php...0Speed:%20Shift . So means pentium/celeron/A-4/A-6 with around intel HD3000 GPU can run smoothly? I dun need the latest games, just a casual gamer.

Hey man, sorry for mislooking your post laugh.gif
This is a pretty outdated thread haha, not sure why its still here tongue.gif
THanks for the compliments yo, apprecaite it  notworthy.gif

For gaming performance, its better to look at the gaming benchmarks provided by Notebookcheck here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Game...ds.13849.0.html

These are really tested so its pretty much accurate nod.gif
It depends on the games you are playing and also your budget, but for the newer NFS games, Intel HD3000/4000 will not really be enough~
The good thing is that you can already get a very decent GPU at around RM2k nowadays  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

This thread seems more like a correct place for me since I want a buying guide and not recommendation, haha.
Sorry for messaging u, maybe I too kan cheong to get the ans. sweat.gif

Damn, my budget only 1.1-1.2k. Maybe I should wait a few months for the price to drop. Or how about older NFS games since that link only got newer ones? For example this 1 I posted earlier http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php...0Speed:%20Shift . Based on the requirements, can it run smoothly? I dunno how to compare with core 2 duo.

THe requirements for NFS Shift is pretty high, so I would say its a NO.
It'll be better for you to save up more money since the price will not drop too much I'm afraid hmm.gif
You can aim for this one~
14"
Lenovo G480, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT635M@RM1799, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS

*though you need to install your own OS
*
That's almost twice my budget. sad.gif I'll see how 1st. Thx a lot.

Btw, how to know what GPU your computer is using? Computer properties nvr show.
