QUOTE(ihavenoidea @ Apr 9 2020, 04:02 PM) stupid expensive when it was new, you had not much option for built back then, aftersales depends on your local warranty provider there. this thing is too old, sent to service center that cant do shit cause they only know how to replace parts. by seeing this it seem it is very difficult in term of after sales service and plus the support is not knowledge how to fix the oven instead just replace the parts |

QUOTE(ihavenoidea @ Apr 9 2020, 04:09 PM) mine is kinda analog, the board have barely any IC on it. i send to normal electronic shop and the guy helped me changed few capacitor and it was fixed. oooh you mean you bought this oven about 10 years ago ? that time for sure analogmy early post, i say if you dont need all the fancy function like timer and yada2 then skip the oven with lots of digital thing. Oven is not a new tech, its not hard to fix. |

QUOTE(BillCollector @ Apr 9 2020, 11:50 PM) I've bought quite a lot of ovens as a landlord, many of them bought 2nd hand 3-5 years old. how about elba?My findings? The brands I'd buy? Bosch, Teka and Fotile. Anything more expensive you are mainly paying for the brand. In Malaysial the more expensive the brand doesn't mean the services are better. One SMEG oven I bought 3 years ago for RM8,000 the touch screen module fried on it and when you get through to the service center which is an absolute nitemare you'll be charged an arm and a leg to fix it, that's if you can find parts for it. I had many good Electrolux ovens, then I started buying them new.... big mistake. Newer ones are absolute garbage. At 2 of my houses that are rented to an American and a German family, both houses have the same IKEA kitchen cabinets, both houses have the same Electrolux ovens and both houses have the same identical damage. Bad door seals caused the paint on the cabinet doors to have steam and heat damage. Ironically both houses had identical damage despite being used by 2 different families and at 2 different locations. Then one of it had issues with the thermostat... it could be on or off only and when it was on it was full power or nothing at all. They came to remove it and fixed it 3 times saying it was fixed but never fixed. Bloody pain to call them to as once out of warranty they charge you RM90 per trip to come to your house as it is all outsourced these days and that's even if it is under warranty. Then the other one had a noisy fan bearing issue where when you use the fan force function it would make an unpleasant noise. Electrosux considered it to be normal and said nothing was wrong with it. In the end to keep that American tenant happy I forked out RM390 to replace the fan module. Bosch ovens are pretty good but they are a bit more expensive. 3 of my houses have it and are nearing 5 years old now as at that time I knew someone at Bosch and could get it for a good price. Never had a single issue with it except on 1 where I opted to replace the rubber seal last year as it appeared to be wearing out. I have 2 units of Teka and my own personal home has one as well that is 8 years and another that is 3 years. I haven't had any issues with it and the only annoyance with it is every 3-4 months I have to disassemble it and reattach the touch screen module as the gel type glue that holds it in place has worn and the module behind the touch pad could detach when you press it too hard. I was told I could bring it back to Teka to fix it permanently but I never got around to doing so. I also have 2 units of Fotile both are 3 years old. Am big fans of appliances from this brand, their kitchen hood is second to none, electric stoves are fantastic and their ovens are no different, not the cheapest but the performance on them makes up for it. Lower end brands? Beko isn't bad quite cheap to buy but finishing a bit on the crude and plaid side. Lately Midea is also becoming popular and they are everywhere in China, which is no easy feat mind. My advice? No need to get a high end oven until you really know how to fully utilize it and forget all them funny coatings, those shit don't work.... buy an oven cleaner and give that oven a scrub every 2-4 months (most people don't even clean their oven once per year anyway) No kidding, bloody stupid Electrosux. Their oven sucks, their refrigerators are the absolute worst, their washer dryers are absolute pieces of shit. The biggest piece of shit is their after sales service. |
