Ops..your mobo died pretty quickly....does it have GTL control settings in the bios?
iBenQ, are u running on 4Ghz regularly? 1.6V? i reckon that would shorten the lifespan of the proc pretty quickly...

the links for reference.
i read last night forum on Q6600 (on other website), they said kinda hard to kill the proc. for 4GHz, i think might kill the proc. sweat.gif sory for noob question, i m new on Q core.

anyway, 4GHz on WC or AC, kinda interested to know ur setting drool.gif

owh. guys, i cant past 3.1Ghz sweat.gif icon_question.gif

i set ram timing 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8V @ 836MHz (stock speed 4-4-4-12) and vcore stock volt 1.325V @ 9x 345

this is first timer with quad proc. can guide me a lil bit. tongue.gif

i know nothing about adjust anything other than Mch, vcore, vDimm, cpu multiplier, FSB.

EIST and C1E disabled. others left auto.

thank in advance. icon_rolleyes.gif

Nah, ram timing does not contribute to core failure during prime stress test
if your ram or the timing is problematic, you just simply gonna get BSOD or crash

try up the vcore, maybe the vdroop is just too much during cpu load.
looking at your CPU-Z obviously 1.325 drops to 1.248 is not good, need around 1.27v-1.28v for the cores to retain stability.

but with 1.325v I can reach 3.2 easily brows.gif

u mean going Fanless? right now using thermalright true 120 for cpu cooler.

i think P&P can help me a lil bit.

last night i try up the FSB about 5-8, and FSB strap to NB in AUTO, then ram running on 890MHz, after 14 miutes OCCT test, core 0 error, i edy try increase the Vcore n Vmch but still not solve the prob. is it my ram is the barrier?

356x9 - 364x9
vcore 1.39v
Vmch 1.22v
Vdimm 1.89v

3.2Ghz edy achived.

over 3.2Ghz cant go. blue screen if running the ram 870Mhz or more.

if running below 800MHz (736MHz), got error on OCCT test. no idea. just tested increase vcore, vmch, n vdimm kaw2 but issues still remain the same. i think the ram ler. rclxub.gif

@terryfoo

no need to buy the 8700 zalman unless u use for stock speed. i owned it b4 n really frustrating me. even core 2 duo it cant handle the heat. core 2 quad sweat.gif

how about the CCF or red scorpion? i heard the cooler is efficient tho.

Fatal error rounding was 0.5 and expected less than 0.4 sweat.gif
