QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Apr 11 2009, 03:00 PM) Yeap IBT is the most insane one,max my processor at 73 C or so and under normal program max is 58 C or so Yeah i also found that under normal circumstances you will almost never achieve the temperatures you get from using programs like p95 or IBT. So i'm thinking because my Proc is somewhat of a hotter batch then maybe i can try to get it to 3.2 and test for stability first. 2-3 Hours at high 70 degrees shouldn't be that dangerous for the Proc right?

So is there an acceptable range for vdrop for it to be considered "good"?

QUOTE(ahsiah @ May 28 2009, 05:32 PM) I set the vcore as 1.2650 and able to achieve 400*8 FSB as 3.2Ghz. Happy with the result. Unfortunately, I required 1.5125v to achieve 400*9 3.6Ghz to get LinX stable for 25 times. i tried mine at ur voltage with the same settings as soon as i start p95 straightaway my pc show me the blue blue screen of happiness

I think board wise should be okay, am using Gigabyte EP45-UD3R, and as for RAMs am using 4x1GB corsair DDRII 6400DHX CL4, The proc itself may be my limiter as my stock Vcore is 1.325.

Am currently using 9 x 400, you think 8 x 450 will make any difference? Also, increasing the nb will have any effect on the temp of the proc? Sorry i ask a lot of questions stilll in the learning phase

Don't be scared bro, my stock vcore is 1.325 =D I'm running 3.44 also with air cooling. Changing to WC next week =D Just a piece of advice, if you really plan to get serious with your Q6600 on air cooling i would recommend getting the best air cooling available so you don't regret later on. Initially i skipped on this i got a so so cooler and later on had to spend more money to get a better one. I personally would recommend the TR True120, TR IFX or the Prolimatech Megahelms if you intend to go with air cooling. My proc will never be able to reach 3.6 on air cooling but maybe yours can due to the lower vcore.

450 X 9 = 4.05GHz d =D @Uzary kinda depnds on what your stock core is at lor. For my super l33t 1.325 last timei tried took 1.6 to reach 400. But i'm guessing for those with better 6600's it would take a lot less.

1.45v for 3.6 is still okay ler. My old q6600 at 1.44 was 3.4ghz max. For 3.6 during my early testing time, needed 1.56 vcore to get there.
