Try increasing your Vcore....I'm able to run at Vcore at 1.38V with FSB at 450mhz and Multiplier at X8. Running stable.

Also check if your mobo bios supports tweaking of the GTL and cpu VTT voltages as thats sometimes necessary to gain further stability for quaddies.

BurgerRI not every q6600 can do 3.6ghz at that voltage

I never said that all Q6600 could run at 3.6Ghz at my voltage, I'm just sharing my setting. I'm just giving suggestions on how he could increase his OC... doh.gif

if your going to be running at a lower kinda ghz like in the range of 3Ghz, try dropping your multi from X9 to X8, there is a tangible increase in performance. of course your fsb will be higher which is a good thing...

now become 3.2 back

yesterday hang 1 time, the settings still the same...but run at 213X8 = =

Lucky for you bro...proc's sometimes die sooner rather than later. Heat would normally help speed up the degradation process.

Anyone here abt to get their Q6600 up to 4Ghz? how many volts do you need to pump into your CPU to get it stable?

mobo dead already. waiting for RMA.  mad.gif

Ops..your mobo died pretty quickly....does it have GTL control settings in the bios?

iBenQ, are u running on 4Ghz regularly? 1.6V? i reckon that would shorten the lifespan of the proc pretty quickly...

the links for reference.
i read last night forum on Q6600 (on other website), they said kinda hard to kill the proc. for 4GHz, i think might kill the proc.  sweat.gif  sory for noob question, i m new on Q core.

anyway, 4GHz on WC or AC, kinda interested to know ur setting  drool.gif

The thing the 2 factors that kills procs the quickest are high voltages to the CPU Core and constantly high core temps. Of course having high Core V's also contribute to higher temps. I'm running my quaddie at 3.6Ghz on a daily basis with 1.36-1.37V and the temps are around 52C with all 4 cores running at 100%. Using water cooling by the way.

I've tried 4Ghz but had to use around 1.5-1.6 V's but didnt run at that speed for long.

I am using custom water cooling with a 2*120MM Radiator.

in 3.2Ghz, max core temperature are 60c to 64c
in 3.6Ghz, max core temperature are 80c to 89c.

I think this is the best unless I want to upgrade my WC. I felt 3.6Ghz is very hot. During afternoon time, my room getting very hot. This is not what I want for 24/7 setup. Hence, I returned to 3.2Ghz.

What water block are you using for your proc? seems a bit high for a WC setup.
