Japan are losing control on Covid, Wave keep coming, each wave are bigger & bigger. Japan alot old citizen, that why until today Japan still didn't open for International tourism.
Japan each day around 40-50k new cases.

My whole company & Japanese friend all kena once or twice. I am the last survivor biggrin.gif Sinovac power!!

haha, your are very lucky
40-50k so less? i thought japan one day new case 200k+
oh ya, good enough
*
Those are Hospital / Clinic / Pharmacy which accept those Covid Patient. Those 200k-300k just estimate because 90% Hospital in Japan no longer deal with any Covid Patients ( no matter which level of Covid sickness) which means including Ambulance & Emergency Medic Helicopter.

Those foreigner current at Japan, if kena covid, self isolate and pray to God are only option. If get worst, then just notice your nation embassy to tapau ur body back to your families.

Two great news

No longer "guided" tour however need to book through travel agent

https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20220824_01/

No need pre-departure test

https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia...ily-caps-remain
*
More Expensive abit because need pay travel agency to booked hotel & air ticket & Visa for you.
Preparing black & white travel document.

BTW, I not recommended going Japan this year as tourist due to Japan medic still in collapsing condition. If unlucky, you kena covid, no Hospital / Clinic / Pharmacy will help you. Make sure got Malaysia Embassy contact number in Japan. Seek help when needed.

Air Asia's flight to Tokyo has the warning of "Flight is subject to obtaining government approval". Is safe to book the flight without the risk of cancellation/postponement?
*

Hi, anybody been to Japan these past few days/week? I'm wondering for the no PCR test 72-hours before flight have to prove already taken 3 shots vaccination. Is the MySj certificate a valid proof? When/where to whom should I provide the document to?
Don't. I kena already. flight supposed to be 3rd October, then cancelled and I still can't get the refund. Have to book another flight on other airline.  bangwall.gif

If Custom ask, then you show the little booklet.
Currently Japan International airport just open for Premium Airlines. All Low Cost are not allow. Tiger Air, Scoot, Jetstar, AirAsia X ...etc...etc....all not allow at the moment.

Little booklet? Is that the printed version of  the certificate in MySejahtera?
*
The hand writing version. When you take the vaccine, the nurse hand out that small booklet / card that record the date and type of vaccine. Booster also got card record.

You still can show the e version, but Japan custom prefer card / solid / actual / old school vaccine certificate.

11th of Oct 2022 onwards, Sinovac will be recognized as approved vaccination. Airlines have received new updates on this
*
Japan not dare to losing China market. Not approved Sinovac means no China tourist in future. 60% Japan luxury retail will be closing down.

AA still got the government approval pending. Not sure when it will get confirmed.
*
Its not Government. Contract between AAX & Haneda are not renewal yet. BTW, currently Haneda airport management are not open for any low cost airline, so the contract renewal are stall at the moment. Narita Airport Yes.

QUOTE(marfccy @ Oct 3 2022, 10:13 AM)
noice, just in time too!
yeah ikr? compared to what we used to have haiz

i rmb i went Osaka for RM1.7k only via AA.. but to be understandable since the one im planning to book isnt low cost carrier i guess?
AA timing still abit weird tho? 3 day a week, mon wed fri then only starting in nov 7th
*
I got a feeling, all Low Cost Airline will be shifted to Narita Airport. Haneda will be remain for premium airlines.

Hi, anyone fly with Phillippines airline before? Looks like got cheap return flight. KL to Tokyo for nest year around April 2023
. Around rm1900.
*
Very nice airlines. From KL to Manila will be A321, the aircraft got personal entertainment on each seat. From Manila to Tokyo will be A330.

Food 3/5
Legroom 4/5
Seat comfortable 4/5

Manila International Airport abit old not modern. Something very crowded. Not a great experience.

I almost can confirm, budget airlines no longer land at Haneda anymore.
Good & Bad

Good = no longer midnight flight to Tokyo
Bad = far away from Tokyo City.

No news, based on my daily witness live from Haneda Airport. Currently Haneda Airport Arrival don't have any low cost airlines. Those low cost airlines from S.Korea, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia & Malaysia all gone. All shifted to Narita.

QUOTE(billyboy @ Oct 5 2022, 03:53 PM)
hi sifus, can you have some suggestions for accomodation in Tokyo. Suburb is ok as long as have train / mrt to central tokyo (within 45 minutes ?);

thinking of youth hostel with room for 4 pax (so on the budget side)

- early Feb 2023. (yes, its gonna be really cold. lol)
- 4 pax
- first time to Tokyo. look see, eat ramen, perhaps ski (if not too expensive).

i had a look at Airbnb. RM280 to RM350 seems to have some choices.

Appreciate all advice

- where else should i start looking for accomodation ?
- which suburb is a good for touristy stay

thank you sir
*
Ski will be too expensive for you since you are on budget. Forget about it.
Accommodation part, Airbnb are your only choice. Hotel will needed open 2 room because Japan are very strict on 2 pax one room policy.

If you don't mind suburb side, can stay at Takao area. Morning can hike the famous Takao mountain which I normally hike during weekends whenever I stay at Tokyo. From Takao to Tokyo (Shijuku Station) by Keio Takao Line Limited Express Train / Rapid Train. Journey about 1 hour. If you wanted to feel the real Tokyo vibe, this is a good start.

there are 2 good offer to go Japan now....

One is Via Scoot, midnight ride to Jap......come back via AA
All in all, ~RM1000 + ~RM1000 = about RM2000 round trip. hav to buy 2 times la

Another is via Manila Air, midnight ride to Jap, come back via AA.

btw, anyone now how the transit works for Scoot?
Do i need to pickup and check-in again at SG airport?
*
From KL to SG by Scoot also?
If you going SG by Scoot / SIA then you no need recheck in again because all under one umbrella / code sharing. Your luggage tag will destination airport which is Tokyo Narita. Once you reach Singapore Changi, just follow the Transit sign !! Not the Arrival Sign!! Transit Sign will guide you to Transit hall

From KL to SG by AirAsia / MAS / Firefly...etc etc......then you need pickup luggage ...go through Singapore Kastam then go Departure Hall and check in at Scoot counter...then go thru kastam again.....

what if i book with philippines airlines and need to transit in manila but layover duration 22h? flight to NRT is with philippine airlines too

need to go through transit gate too if i plan to go out of airport?

or still can re-check in after i bring my luggage out?
*
This depends airlines policy. When you check in at KL, can ask the staff.

The Airlines I know so far which you can't leave the Terminal during Transit are China Southern Airlines, EVA Airways & United Airlines.

Now heading Haneda feel more "Atas" because currently Haneda just open for Premium Airlines.
Narita good also, no need rush for Haneda last train.

i found airasia X has the route direct to haneda intl

but there's a note indicating pending government approval

i wonder whats the status/outcome if anyone has any ideas?

cuz its significantly cheaper than PAL
*
AirAsia X currently don't have approval to land on Haneda.
If you look back few post I post, Haneda currently just opened for Premium Airlines under Star Alliance & One World & Skyteam only.
My guessing was, All low cost airlines will be push to Narita since Narita Terminal 3 are low cost terminal.
