Looks good,
I be at Hokkaido 1st week April, hope it doesn’t melt yet
Like mentioned, there is already less snow already as of now at early March. Not sure it will last to April.

Is Japan still majority cash based or are they moving towards cashless payments like china?
Would like to know as I'm going for two weeks in April with my wife. Last time I went was before COVID, back in 2019
Yes it is. Better to prepare more cash as standby especially if you are at rural areas.

Hi all, I am planning a 2.5 weeks trip to Japan with my wife and my 6-month-old baby around mid-May. This will be our first time travelling with a baby so I am quite worried about the logistics of carrying a little human with us so will try to keep things light. Need all you sifus to check through my iterinary to see if it's feasible to do it, especially with the travel around cities. I know taxis can be expensive but I think might need to bite the bullet and do some.
Day 1 - Arriving Narita Airport 5pm > Hotel
Day 2-5 - Exploring Tokyo 5 days
Day 6 - Shinjuku > Kawaguchiko (Glamping 1 night)
Day 7-8 - Kawaguchiko > Hakone 2 nights
Day 9-10 - ?Takayama?
Day 11-14 - Kyoto 3.5 days
Day 15-18 - Osaka 3.5 days
My questions are:
1. Possible to take the train from Narita > Tokyo in the evening? Considering I will be carrying quite a lot of luggage + a pram + a little human? Should I just taxi?
2. Traveling from Kawaguchiko > Hakone. My wife wants to do glamping in Kawaguchiko so fitting in them both. What's the best way to travel from Kawaguchiko > Hakone? I was thinking taxi but I know it will be expensive.
3. Days 9-10 are still a blank, I was thinking of Takayama but travelling from Hakone to Takayama seems a bit of a distance. Any good suggestions there?
4. The other option is to travel to Kyoto from Hakone and add places like Hiroshima towards the end. Or I should just spend more time in Kyoto and Osaka?
5. How's driving in Japan? I don't think I dare to drive in the main cities but can consider driving between Kawaguchiko, Hakone +/- Takayama?
Any suggestions will be welcomed, thank you very much!
I have been driving at Japan most of my visits to Japan. Even during the harshest winter periods in Hokkaido. Basically Japs are really well mannered people who drive responsibly. Malaysians are far worst drivers compared to the Japs. You know and I know.
Only thing you need to know that driving in Japan is costly (expensive fuel at almost Rm6/litre, expensive and limited parking, crazily expensive tolls ) but in your case convienience would be a major concern as you would have a lot of luggage and the baby tagging along.
