Hi guys i would like to ask your advice on which camera to get because i know that the D80 has the majority of the D200 specs but is the D200 worth it than?D80?

Also whats the best price now for both of the models body only.

im still searching for a cheap cheap D80 body..

- D200 is a semi-pro/pro. D80 rest as amateurs good camera.
- Color Matrix Metering: 1000 pixels RGB sensor(D200) vs 420 pixels RGB sensor(D80)
- D200 uses compact flash memory cards. D80 uses SD memory cards. Compact flash is very useful If you are planning to upgrade to D2X or another future professional camera or simply comming from D70. (You don't have to buy again all your memory cards)
- Shutter speed- 1/8000 for D200 and 1/4000 for D80.
- Continuos shooting- 5 frame/s for D200 and 3 frame/s for D80.
- Continuos shooting: 37 / 22 frames (JPEG / RAW) D200 vs 23 / 6 frames (JPEG / RAW) for D80. Please notice the difference in RAW.
- D200 has a much more advanced interface, with external controls for nearly all functions, whereas the D80 (like the D70) relies more on interal menues.
- Nikon just won the EISA awards - The D200 as the best camera 2006-2007.
- Definitive more rigid body. D200 looks like a tank and D80 looks like a Jeep.
- Lacking from the D80 is the "Non-CPU Lens Data" menu item found in the D200 and D2Xs, for entering information about non-CPU lenses, as well as the aperture-indexing finger that the D200 has for wide-open metering with older "AI" lenses.
- D200 has Group Dynamic AF (Sports useful) and Closest Subject Priority Dynamic AF (useful for difficult front subjects with distracting background).

the D200 if you can afford it!

The obvious differences are:-
1) Weather-proof body. It does feel like a tank though, but with the cost of extra weight.
2) 5fps !!! (This is particularly nice for burst shots to freeze motion & even bracketing while handholding). Combine it with a speedlight, and you are able to take 5fps with flash! <-- LoL, handle with care
3) Different neckstrap (haha!)

If the above isn't too important, get the d80, and invest the money on your lenses instead...

D200 and D80 has a big price jump though..    
I would love to get a D200 if i can get it cheap coz it does fit my need more so..

if it fits your needs, maybe try to get it second-hand...

D300 la D300! which will feature a full frame CCD/CMOS

And D200's noise handling is better than D80 imo.

Bros i need your help can you tell me if its worth it to buy a second hand D200body with 5months warranty left at RM4100?or what do you think the price should be?

less than 7k shutter count..supposed to be in good condition..

WB not sure.
But D80 does have a better noise control, more obvious if u compare at high ISO.

D200 going obsolete already,take D80 first while waiting for D200 replacement.

i doubt the D200 would go obsolete soon.. the specs are still very very usable and better than the D80. People are still choosing the D200 over the D80 if the have the cash..Besides if a higher model came out the price would probably be a killer and unreasonable compared to theD200 and D80..

Yea i bought Body only since im doing underwater photography i dont need the kit lens(cheaper oso)
I got everything which comes with the D200 Body and with 5months warranty for Rm4100..

congrats bro. but u've made a wrong decision. firstly, do u know the cost of a underwater casing for d200? if i not mistaken, the casing itself is around 8k
