AirCond
22'C Idle
30'C Load

Non AirCond
26'C Idle
35'C Load

All these temp is based on 4ghz @ 1.35vcore and watercooling.
Using watercooling. Never take out / use my stock cooler to preserve the resell value.

Oh ya... I cant detect the temp using 0.96 Coretemp or my Everest 4.2 Ultimate. Its temp reading will just stuck at 46/25 and remains the same even during full load.

So using gigabyte software for the temp reading. Probably not that accurate.

Real nice temps. Yeah, my gigabyte software also not the same as core temp 0.95.4. It reads the CPU temp lower by about 4-5'c.....

just got e8400 last week and now only got chance to test it.. booted straight away @ 4ghz with geminiII . vcore is at 'normal' (gigabyte easytuner detect it @ 1.34vcore) stable for 24/7..

well i'm pretty sure 4ghz will becomes norms with penryn..

erm so 4.7ghz shud be the minimum target for average overclocker here biggrin.gif
*
You sure your mobo is not auto setting the vcore? I thought it is supposed to be 1.225v max.....

So what's the temperature readings at idle/load on Core Temp?

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Jan 17 2008, 08:53 PM)
Help me with oc trouble! When i use E2160,can run DDR11xx and no with this E6550,only can go DDR89x,once past 900 will stuck at C1 post code(Mem detection).I even swap another KVR(Run DDR9xx at the com i take out) and still the same and i try switching slot, single channel and dual channel.Could it be my PSU or my processor?

Spec:
E6550(G0.VID 1.35,stock vcore 440x7=3080mhz)
Abit IP35 Pro
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2Gb DDR2800(Gone DDR-11xx,5-4-4-12@2.35v before)
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro hsf with normal thermal compound
PNY 8800GT
Lian Li PC7A case in default configuration,no mod or anything
Segate Barracuda 7200.7 HDD
LG SATA DVD-RW
Inwin Powerman 350W PSU(Only 7.xv at 12v,will change soon)
*
Did you use the same multiplier?

It may be because you are OCing with a higher FSB? In that case, increase your vMCH/vFSB.....

What's your vcore in BIOS?

Interested to know how's the capabilities of the Xigmatek S1283 with penryn. Did you stress your rig with a stress program e.g. orthos? What's the core temperature at load?

hi...
new one here..

i wanna change my old amd 3500+ system..
but need some advise from all sifus here..
1. better take an e6550 (us94) or e6750@us104 or just jump to  q6600@us146.
2. im really wanna OC those CPU (not extreme), so whats the cheapest but okay mobo should i get..
3. can i just take those KVR ram or opt for some performance ram.
4. do i need to change my stock HSF if wanna OC the Q6600.

pls advise..
*
Yeah, like clawhammer said, you should go for penryn instead.

Unless of course, you're looking for cheap 2nd hand CPUs..... or unless you need a cheap quad...

Frankly speaking, the difference between KVR rams and high performance rams are small.... if you are tight on your budget, KVR rams should be adequate... although the may limit you OC somewhat...

Definitely need better 3rd party HSF is you want to Oc.....

My commando doesn't read the temps right. But according to my temp probe ( placed near the suction line instead of evap base ) it's at -61C load and -56C on full load. Temps are great with just a r410a cascade.

sweat.gif sweat.gif Cascade...... out of our league.....

Hey, I'm getting -61'c on my rig too, just minus the minus.... laugh.gif

Here is a better result from my previous OC

C2Q Q6600 2.4Ghz @ 4.356Ghz
Abit IP35-E unmodded ( budget but strong overclocking mobo )
Wow! Nice. thumbup.gif

How's the vdroop of the Abit IP35-E at so high a vcore? hmm.gif

from abit software show 60++ something only when full load....the temperature i show before is from core temp...sure higher
*
For software temperature monitoring (hence the inaccuracy), it is generally accepted that core temp is more accurate as compared to your own's motherboard software.

My mobo's software shows 48-50'c at load while core temp shows 60-61'c.....

actually the 48-50C which detected is the temperature of the IHS of processor, whereas the the temp detected by core temp is the temp of the core.
correctly if i'm wrong. notworthy.gif

Can read more about CPU temperature here : http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=3251&p=4

The conclusion is, software monitoring is not that accurate as nobody knows the actual Tjunction of Intel's CPU, which can vary with each family/stepping of processors.....

The best would be the value to Tjunction, which can be seen by setting it in Core Temp using the "Show Delta to Tjunction max temp"..... smile.gif
