Left to be decided
- screen protector very curious about getting the paper-like writing experience the whole youtube talks about.
Anyone know where we can buy the ori Paperlike 2 in Malaysia?
Anyone has heard bad experience charging ipad with powerbank for emergencies while on the go?

It's been a while I'm on a forum so happy to meet everyone here. Cheers

Been researching on paper texture screen protectors too. Have read about the common issues with wearing out the pen nib faster, screen is little fuzzy due to texture.
Can find some a lot of good opinions on reddit ipad page, but from what i got out of it of using the paperlike - unless you're a full-time artist drawing on it everyday, nib should still last quite awhile for the average user - a year or more before needing to replace the nib.
Also have read opinion on the the original brand and many say its just overpriced and marketted well and not too much different to generic brand ones. Few have said a Japanese version under 'Elecom' brand is slightly cheaper and better - but can't quite find seller here.

A colleague of mine got a generic brand one recently for their iPad air and says no issues with it so far.
So I decided to get the most popular one selling on Lazada - Benks brand (rm38+). will see how it is when i receive it.

Nice sharing bro.

I may have to put a hold on buying this new ipad pro magic keyboard as i am not that much of a trackpad user, although it is quite useful when editing documents & spreadsheets.

Hey thanks for sharing the info on the Benks and Elecom, could really filter out the many options out there and eventually wastages.
Not familiar w reddit though.

I'm very eager to try writing for notes and ideas, that's why decided to bite the bullet in an Ipad experience after coming from Ms Surface.
But writing on glass is definitely going to be weird i think.
Funny you say pen nibs, haven't seen them for sale. Apple store?
Please share your review once you have them! Thanks.

Regarding the casing - I've seen 2 types that could still use with the keyboards:

a) coverbuddy - simple thin case, which can't be found in Malaysia at the moment
b) UAG Scout - looking more rugged type

yep can buy additional nibs from apple store rm69 for pack of 4- https://www.apple.com/my/shop/product/MLUN2...cil-tips-4-pack
people say its expensive, but if changing it 1-2 times a year for a good writing experience, think its worth it.
you can also find third-party nibs on lazada/shopee for a fraction of the price, but peoples review says it quite different. am considering to get some just to test out myself since so cheap.
there's also third-party nib covers - like a add-on rubber protector over the nib itself, not sure how if it works well.

after seeing this, definitely don't think its worth the price. it doesn't act as a full protective case, no secure pen holder. its just limited to being a fancy looking keyboard and trackpad use.

waiting to see what Logitech comes up with. all they need is to add a trackpad to their existing keyboard case, and be much cheaper than apples, then its gonna sell like hotcakes

According to Logitech keyboard with touchpad for iPad air3, besides the removable case and trackpad clicking limited to lower portion , everything looks the same with Apple.

keep the review coming in... biggrin.gif

actually we could just group buy and share the spare tips between us, not much.
And if we are adventurous, just find 4 person to share and catch up after MCO over coffee. Would be nice to learn how each uses their ipad.

Alot of tech are underutilized tbh...

Been thinking of getting the MacPro or iPad and finally took the plunge and order the new ipad pro (11", grey, 512GB, wireless only) with normal folio keyboard (been using the logitech keyboard for my Ipad air2 since 2015) and the Apple pencil. Now happily waiting for delivery notification update. smile.gif

As per this morning, the status is still preparing to ship. My apple pencil order last time took 5 days to reach after the status changed to ship. No i didnt engrave my pencil, yet it still went sg-china-msia route.

I think even if apple ship it out today, i dont think it can reach between 21st - 23rd april.

For the Magic Keyboard, I do think it is really expensive however I looked at it this way.

I thought about going for the Smart Keyboard Folio, to both act as a keyboard as a necessary appendage as well as a cover for both front and back surfaces of the iPad and then a magic mouse or a magic track pad to assist with my transition from a full time laptop user to a tablet which I have a mind set to replace my 9 year old MacBook Air.

The accumulated cost for both, Smart Keyboard Folio would cost RM869(for the 12.9") and the Magic Trackpad 2 would come up to RM489 and that would bring up the total cost to about RM1358.00 without the full experience of a proper scissors switch keyboard and the mobility of the trackpad.

That said, the drawback of this is that we might sacrifice a ton of mobility due to it being a lot heavier and perhaps even heavier than a MacBook Air but the idea of me bringing the iPad Pro on a plane is a lot more appetising than a full sized MBA haha.

But most of all, it is to experience an Apple product LOL

yeah bro, agreed on your last sentence. they make it looks like reasonable to own a powerful and interesting tablet but end up paying over 6k for full products. bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif i dont like the smart folio keyboard due to its key looks like rubber? that the main thing i did not consider the smart keyboard ..

by the way, my keyboard is in processing status still .. aiyaa!
