Guys. Just wondering, how do you guys normally use your Fold series phone? I always see YouTuber demos and ads showing apps opened side by side. I wonder how practical is that/ how often people really need that. Probably I'm not the targeted user but I'm always wondering how useful a foldable is.
*
For me, my main use case viewing websites, reading ebook and watching content on a big inner screen is just so much better on the big inner screen.

Also scribbling notes using the S-pen on the inner screen is also better vs the Note series last time, but that center crease do get in the way of writing sometimes.

I normally use the gallery app side by side with another app such as email, whatapps, chat apps and note taking app and just drag and drop photos from the gallery into the other apps.
Another one is reading some websites and if there are anything that I particularly want to copy down, I open one note by the side and copy paste it.

I use the bigger screen mostly for content consumption eg. youtube, photo gallery, reading ebooks, browsing. Occasionally use side by side multitasking, email & excel, notes. All depends on your usage. Very useful to have both options of smaller and bigger screen. But its really bulky, i say that coming from iphone 13 mini  whistling.gif literally like 2 phones stacked on top of each other.

For me, using the S22 Ultra vs the Z Fold, hands down the Z fold is easier to handle and hold. lol

Yes...i didnt expect it... but i feels better/nicer to hold than most phones i had, especially on the left hand..the hinge curve sits nicely in the palm. And the narrow front screen makes it easier for one hand usage, but i do get more typos when using two hands to type.. probably very used to IOS keyboard. Any good keyboard suggestions ?

I just use samsung keyboard. Used to it.

One UI 5.1 improves the combo of the watch 4 or 5 with Fold 4.
The fold 4 in tripod mode with the camera controller makes for easy group photo taking session and now with the additional zoom function on the controller, we can easily switch between the cameras.

Need to play around one UI 5.1 more to explore it.

ouch that hurts!
I dropped my s21u numerous times and it's still in mint condition.
undeniably foldables are really more fragile, that's the risk we kinda have to accept when go for it. now I start to wonder how much protection my slim stand case can offer, because it's so slim and slippery! lol
*
Sometime it depends on your luck, I have dropped my Fold 2 about 3 times, but it is still good condition and I was able to trade in with full amount through compasia.
I was using the Araree Bonnet case.

Used Z Fold 4 @RM4k is certainly tempting.

I am considering this instead of the Pixel fold due to the warranty support/repairability at SC and price.

Any one who regretted buying the ZFold 4?

No regret getting the fold 4 as well.
Very hard to get back to standard slab phone. The flexibility of having a big screen in the pocket is just convenient.

My ZF3's WiFi suddenly stopped working. WiFi now cannot switch on. Also no mobile data hot-spot either. Samsung SC quoted me 2122 to fix which entails changing out the entire screen becos the faulty WiFi ribbon is attached to it.

It's quite a common problem just Google it. SC guy knew the problem straightaway. So my 7k phone lasted just 1.5 yrs before being handicapped.

My frens ZF3 also same issue. but I would think that for folding phone in general are more prone to problems.

I am tempted, and very close to buying the next Galaxy Fold.

The big thing that's stopping me is not knowing whether or not I can watch videos, be it YouTube or Amazon Prime using the whole inner screen of the device. I would love to watch my media without cropping in full screen and lettterboxing with massive black bars.

I have seen some commentators mention that you can force the aspect ratio to fit the screen on a per app basis but I'm still not sure how effective this solution is. Just want to know if any of you watch your media in full screen without any compromises.
*
Like for youtube, I can zoom in to the whole inner screen, but I'm sure you would not want to do it. Videos on youtube are in the 16:9 aspect ratio, and zooming in and fill up the whole screen will cut off the content.
For old videos in the 4:3 ratio, I'm watching it fine filling up the inner screen.

the 400 e-voucher is not only for accessories, can be used to discount the samaung care purchase, it will deduct at the checkout. this is excluding the RM200 from the ROI

are u referring to the rm400 preorder voucher?
*
No. The RM400 I'm referring is the e-voucher supposingly to be used for accessories. But u can skip the accessories and still see a discount if you add samsung care.

For me the slimmer S-pen is attractive as the current z fold 4 spen is thick and combined with the case, it is increasing the overall "thickness" of the phone. Further it makes laying the phone flat on a table to be impossible.

I have calculated, by trading in my z fold 4 (RM2450), trade in rebate (RM600), ROI discount (RM400), = RM3349 for the 512GB z fold 5

Wow... you really wanna trade in for that price? What a waste...
*
You are correct that it is a waste. I'm just erring on my experience using z fold 2 previously. After 1+ years, the crease developed a micro crack and a few of my friends using z flip3 and z fold3 also developed screen problem between the 1 to 2 year mark. To repair the screen after warranty is costly and I'm thinking to trade in before warranty expires at least I get RM2450 vs getting nothing after the screen breaks. That is my thinking.
