QUOTE(waveweaver @ May 19 2024, 10:02 AM) After updating One UI 6.1 i feel my Fold 4 battery drained faster. Any Fold 4 user feel the same way? QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ May 19 2024, 10:18 AM) Yes, I do feel that the battery on my Fold 4 drains faster than before the 6.1 update but not significantly drastic. What I'm having trouble climatise is the naviagtion swipe gesture for the back and menu on the right side. Yea, me too... battery drain so fast and it just shutdown suddenly without warning just now...before 6.1, it will warn until 1% before shutting down. Yesterday - 5% and it auto shutdown Today - not even 5% and it shutdown something is not right Xaser_3 liked this post

QUOTE(stormstrider @ Jun 1 2024, 05:22 PM) Have you tried to boot up with power buttons (power + volume down)..? Most probably the connector under its hinge. Same as my Fold 4. Need to change the screen and the whole frame. Luckily your phone still under warranty. Currently with Samsung SC...Claim it under standard warranty. Do not use your Care+ as you will need to pay for an expensive labour charge. With standard warranty you won't need to pay a cents. Thanks for the advice. Now the phone couldn't switch off anymore... It stuck at Samsung Galaxy boot screen and recovery screen. They will fix it but never ask for any single cent at the moment... Luckily have 2 yrs care+ warranty It will take 5-7 working days to collect the phone... The issue is they bloody reset the phone already sigh.... |

QUOTE(stormstrider @ Jun 1 2024, 07:34 PM) Your phone outer look still in good condition right? I've received my phone back... just like what you've mentioned... frame/hinge/screen replaced since it's one module... Battery also new and the issue was due to the flexi cable I guess...When they open up the phone they will check water damage indicator. If it show have water damage normally they will call you and ask whether you want to proceed but with Care+ warranty because standard warranty didn't cover water damage. If no call received then most probably it covered under standard warranty. If this the case then no worry as you won't pay anything. Best senario they will change your battery also.. LOL all covered by Samsung warranty without any charges This post has been edited by thankyou: Jun 5 2024, 10:52 PM Xaser_3 liked this post

QUOTE(stormstrider @ Jul 11 2024, 12:35 PM) Replacing the screen display after warranty for foldable will cost a bomb compared to candy bar phone display. Really scared with the faulty ribbon cable. Any 3rd party shop able to fix this issue if it's out of warranty? That because you need to change nearly everything from the outer frame to the hinge for screen replacement. While candy bar phone only need to replace the display. For foldable a 2 year warranty is a must and you better sell the phone before that warranty expired. I have flip 3. Already out of warranty and have a malfunction flux connector under the hinge that make the phone main display went black after the phone flip closed. Service centre technician said i need to change the outer body frame AND the main display although the main display still function if i do hard reset and keep the phone flipped open. He said it is because the flux connector come together with the display. And to change the display he need to change to outer frame also. You see how problematic and expensive just to change the flux ribbon connector.? It will cost you RM1.3K..!! And you will get a new screen as well. In the end i just let it be and now the flip 3 have multiple green lines that make nearly impossible to see the writting under those pesky lines. As for my Fold 4 , the flux connector goes faulty after 18 months. I'm lucky it still under the 2 years warranty. Fixed it for free and get a new display, new outer frame and new battery also. The SA told me that he not sure how long can the new flux connector will last. He said the same thing can happen again and it will cost RM2.2K for the same procedure. I sold the phone a month later to avoid risking all these not counting green lines that might come later on like my flip 3. What i'm trying to say is this. I don't mind paying if the things happen because of my own fault like rough usage or dropped the phone on the pavement. What i cannot accept is it happen because of the samsung own hardware that was faulty and yet samsung expect us to pay if it happen after out of warranty. Are you okay with that..? Less than 3 years pristine phone that never dropped and doesn't have a single scratch suddenly went kaput and dead out of nowhere. And you have to pay RM2K to fix the problem that you have nothing to do with it. For a top tier samsung flagship phone that cost nearly RM8K today price, i do expect i can use the phone atleast 5 years without any issue. |
