Got a dead rainbow pixel on my screen. Went to Samsung Service Centre in 1Utama and it seems like they're experiencing a lot of it as the guy had a script. Showed him my phone and a dead pixel and he said that is because the screen is cracked. Told him "but the screen looks good from the outside no?". He turned off the screen looked carefully and said "yes but the screen in these phones is very thin and it can be cracked by nail". Asked him "but it's normal for samsung user to have nail right". He said "i don't know".. I'm supposed to call Samsung Care on Monday but I feel like owning this phone is too risky. Understand if the ultra thin glass cracked..

6k phone screen cracked by a nail? seriously? u should take video during the conversation, i'm sure he wun simply say such nonsense.

Also same in Wisma Bentley Premium Service Center..
Truly premium device but treatment worse than Chinese brand.
We got promises of stronger inner screen in sales.
But in SC we get "screen cracks by nail" bangwall.gif

Sorry to hear. Meaning, both places you went, they said its your fault and wont claim under warranty for free? How much is the cost to repair?

They asked me to call Care Plus on Monday to find out will update in thread

Here is the picture of the "cracked" screen.
If it doesn't look cracked that's just because ur eye can't see, but Samsung can see. dry.gif
My eye cannot see also, always use case and never dropped it yet.

It is Galaxy Z Flip 3. Any claim under Care+ is subject to 670RM fee.
It's repaired under warranty in US and Europe, but Malaysian must pay.

EDIT: I submitted to Care+ anyway describing it as not-own issue.
Hopefully when they see the photo their heart soften. blush.gif

EDIT2: Got a call back from Care+ pretty much immediately.
They verified that I haven't dropped the phone and asked me to walk into Service Center again and ask them that I want to file report to Samsung. hmm.gif

EDIT3: So here's the deal. I actually really love Samsung. I like the brand, I like their accessories, I like Samsung Pay, the phone is a marvel of engineering.
I just don't feel at ease with all of the responsibility of adopting new technology being pushed to customer.
We already paid the premium and gave Samsung our trust and we should get premium service for being one of the first.
I am afraid I might end up spending 600 or 1200 every three months. bye.gif
I hope this can be resolved because I really like the phone

Got another call from Care+.
The person said that Samsung will reject claim due to current SOP due to many cases, any scratch on protector is rejected claim, and all phones have those.
If I escalate they might give 30-80 percent discount which might be more or less than claiming Care+.
I am considering to wait for close to Care+ expiry and then claim once for new screen.
Care+ is handling so many cases their insurance company broke contract with them. 😅

I feel sorry for Care+ as they are an external company (Malaysian some more).
And they are absorbing part of the cost of Samsung's unwillingness to cover warranty.
But it is not different from us I guess. Just a bad business deal on their side.
