I was adamant of not getting the warranty for my Fold 5 because I had several phones throughout my life, and not once did I have to purchase the warranty for any of them. I then thought to myself, "Hey, this is the most expensive phone I ever bought, and it's unlike any other in the market today."
So, about a week after I got my Fold 5, I bought the 2 year plan. Punched in my IMEI number on the purchase page, and after a while, I got confirmation that it was protected via an email. I paid for the thing via Grab installments, that way it lessens the sting of adding even more money to Fold 5 pit (I have bought a Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Live Buds, a Wireless Charger, screen protector, case, etc). Interestingly, the warranty is supported by Tune Protect.
I think it's worth it in the long run even if you are the type of person that babies their phone. I plan to be on the Fold 5 for maybe 4 years, so after I cross into year 3, I have to probably cover it in bubble wrap each time I take it out.
Haha and here i was wondering are there any fold 1/fold 2 users still exist today
And will Android 14 be the last major update 4 each of the phone
samsung reception still that bad ? me from note 2 till note 10, when i send note 10 for warranty claim, i bought poco f1 as temporary phone, than i realize F1 have 3-4bar signal at home comparing my samsung device 0-1bar signal .... frm that onward, i haven't buy any Samsung phone + device.
Interesting. I have long left Samsung ecosystem because it’s difficult to find accessories, especially TG cause I’m prone to changing them quite often.
Fold is the only phone that keeps nagging on me, so far Fold 5 seems like a killer. But the price tag is wow. I don’t know how to justify that kinda price tag. Haha! And I see most people on the streets just end up using the candy front screen only. Seldom see people flip it open, that’s why I wonder the practicality of it.
Haha less flip saves more battery
PS : i still stick candy just like nokia days
Never buy a flip or even turn left turn right like N93
This is provided we have accumulated enough LazBonus.
In this case, the actual price is still RM 6299.00. Unless you have a few hundreds worth of LazBonus, we can not get the price to 5469.00. I only have RM 1xx of LazBonus.
I think it is more of a click bait in this respect. Generally prices for Fold 5 is still above RM 6k.
Haha the bait 2 strong huh Kinda sus if you ask me lol

I decided to wait for the next Flip. Competition is getting stronger now, hopefully samseng improves the Flip even further especially on the battery and camera department.

i would like to see improvement on their fold more ... seems they are loosing ground now a days
I personally don't like Xiaomi and Oppo's offering. Not the hardware, the hardware is great but the software I don't like. I came from a MIUI and ColorOS is not my cup of tea. Reason why I moved from my OnePlus to Samsung was because of ColorOS intefering OxygenOS.
Bought new Fold 3 last year october, from Samsung Gurney Plaza, as the specifications was adequate for my usage.
They gave me 2 pieces Conplimentary voucher, validity till October 4th 2023. Already used up both vouchers, crossing fingers that the protective screen can last longer than 6 months.
Well if both repair requires me to leave the phone with them for a few days and cost a couple of k, i would opt not to fix and get a new one.
the only thing good with his phone is the camera. everything else has been sub par. the hinge wouldnt last for 2 yrs, and the surface finish paint chip. yeah thats pretty much how bad the brand is for me.
This is still the reason why i not switching new form factor yet haha
