Please note the coverage limit and exclusions clauses

https://evomalaysia.com/evo-club-extended-warranty
COVERAGE LIMIT

There is a limit of RM7,500 per claim and RM40,000 in

There are four important notes regarding the RM7,500 limit:

3. Until the RM40,000 total aggregate is fulfilled, any item that has been claimed beforehand can be gain as long as proven faulty.

4. Upon approval of claims, covered parts & labour, an official approval letter will be issued to the respective workshops therefore customers will not be required to make payment for approved items. Excluded items are wear & tear items, normal service items eg: engine oil, filter, oil seal, brake fluid, brake pads, etc.

TS is really brave to buy a 10 year old VW

How many 10 year old VW do you see on the road on a daily basis and also how many 15 years old VW do you see

As comparison its normal to see 10 to 20 years old Japanese or BMW and Mercedes but such old VW are very rare

There must be a reason

Go ahead and buy it. Get a car inspection for accidents/potential engine problems.

But more wear and tear for 10 year old car, especially conti. Service outside cheaper. Wet clutch is more long-lasting but all dual clutch mechatronic (not just VW) isn't as lasting as torque converter gearboxes.

My mom used Passat i cant remember the mfg year but the first few CBU units when they were 185k.My brother used to have Jetta and Polo GTI. In term if reliability its better than may father's 5 series and 3 series. Driving is smoother than 3 series. Bootspace is massive. Sold for less than 50k after 5 years. Main issue is the DSG. I cant remember which one but either dry clutch or wet clutch is not reliable. Get ready to set aside 2.5%~5% of the current value of the car monthly to be ready for maintenance cost.
