I m driving toyota vios NCP 93 year 2008 (12 years) with a mileage of 160,000km. Need the sifu's help on absorber components. When driving through bumper, will have this "nyek nyek" sound. Found out need to replace front absorber. Found out that there is lots of absorber components

My rear absorber just change to APM gas absorber (only absorber). For the front part, what are the componets that i need to buy when replacing front absorber?
1. Front 1 pair absorber (already bought kayaba)
2. Absorber Mounting (come with bearing?)
3. Absorber bearing
4. Absorber cover
5. Absorber bush (same as absorber cover?)
6. stabilizer link (will get 555 brand)
7. absorber cap

for the rear part, anything else need to change? cz last time change only the absorber.

usually only need to change the absorber and the absorber mounting(not the whole steel part, only the middle rubber mounting)

the cover usually don't need to change if it's still under ok condition, it's just to prevent dust

as for stabilizer link, better consult the shop that you're about to do the replacement to check if it needs replacement 1st

usually it's hard to gauge what to change, the absorber mounting for example needed it to be dismantle only will know if it needs to be change but usually it would and why not change together anyway

the rear usually is very simple, absorber and the cover only(usually the cover no need to be changed)

Absorber bush and absorber cover is same thing?

My car feels heavy to pickup (especially from 0 to 80km), just done these major services. Pickup very slow comparing with family's same year vios.
1. Spark plug change
2. Atf fluid change (didnt change the filter though)
3. Engine oil change
4. Engine air filter
5. Fuel filter
6. Cabin air filter
7. Minor throttle body cleaning (clean with cloth w/o)) dismantle)
8. Flush and change brake fluid
9. Change rear brake pad
10. Change radiator

No leaking but one of the spare part shop recommend change gearbox filter or vvti sensor for acceleration problem.

ok, i'm not expert in vios
but 2 things
1. u sure vios have gearbox filter?
2. if have, u never changed before?

for cars that have gearbox filter, from what i know..it should be changed together with ATF every interval

VVTI sensor, i don't think that matters that much regarding acceleration
and are u still using the same viscosity engine oil since the start?

1. Yes , got gearbox filter
2. Never change before.

Should I flush my atf fluid? In the first 3 years, atf was changed once. After 9 years (which is 2 weeks ago), ATF was replaced.

Using different viscosity. First 3 - 5 years using 10W30 . After that change to 5w40.

the answer is right here already
your ATF filter should be changed together with the ATF every interval

as for u saying the acceleration is slower compared to another same year vios...it's your oil, it's the higher viscosity that make your acceleration slow
from XW30 to XW40

slow pickup its normal, due to carbon buildup for 12 years. and i think you should be using semi synthetic engine oil, which is thicker and should be protecting some engine oil leaks.. or mayb you can check the o2 sensors or clean the throttle body might improve the pickup.

nyek nyek sound is very headache because you wont know where it comes from.
busings or absorber, you wont know, thats why alot of mech just change the whole set together.
front absorber mounting i think kyb also sell in set together with the absorber.
and also change the stablizer bushing, one of the nyek sound causes.

Just got all the front absorber items. Last time do minor throttle body cleaning (disassemble the hose, not the whole thing. wipe using cloth within reachable area)

Stabilizer bush....didnt buy yet, will change the gearbox filter and fluid at the upcoming 10,000km
