human nature... for the price you willing to pay, the 6r movement is value for money. Seiko managed to make their names standing along side with swiss brands. well if you dont like the movement, maybe you can upgrade to seiko 9r series? or get some ETA movement smile.gif

FYI DW is a good watch too, ppl critic them for over charging. but if you really like it, i dont see why not owning DW. I have a DW watch too.

Yes. That's the problem. I was thinking to get a decent one. However I realize that they are using all those 6R15, 6R35, etc.
Unregulated is the keyword here.
Going up further means is closing to the price of a Swiss then no point to get a seiko anymore.
That's why the title of my thread is Seiko not Grand Seiko.

thats why i said seiko value for money. try frederique constant, i saw them on 50% sales. i like their slim line moonphase, around RM9k. havent look into the movement, but i think should be ETA.

ah back when u could get 6r15 models for rm1-1.5k...
6r prices now obviously quite dumb...rm2-3k++...
but if comparing with swiss at the same range which would be eta2824 / sw200...those arent exactly great movements either and i would say in terms of quality they're lower than 6r...eta2892 is a diff story...
plus anyone who buys a watch solely on what movement it has is an idiot...as a watch is more than the movement...how it wears..feels etc...

Damn... i bought those cheap china made tourbillion for the sake of having that movement that i cannot afford from swiss brands haha
