QUOTE(MUM @ Jun 24 2020, 12:21 AM) let me check it.I am trying to buy for my sister who is OKU in "intelektual' but Manulife wanted her to do medical check up and premium is high. I don't see there are any valid reasons for the needed to do medical check and impose high premium. Don't tell me intelektual has higher risk in all diseases. Is this one kind of discrimination? QUOTE(MUM @ Jun 24 2020, 01:04 AM) if i can remember,...previously got discussed in lyn.... intellectually disabled may have difficulty getting medical cards ...... Intellectual is due to lower IQ and not because of mental disorder etc.as most plans would have sort of exclusion like this.... psychotic, mental or nervous disorders, (including any neuroses and their physiological or psychosomatic manifestations); but not sure about any latest amendment to it... |

Prudential customer service is damn lousy and bad. If you did not login to your PruAccess for 1 year, your account is inactivated and you cant login until you need to call them for reactivation. No e-mail help is allowed. But when I called them, keep waiting ....
QUOTE This is really bad service and activation is not able to be done over e-mail. Don't tell me it is due to security reasons. This e-mail is the registered e-mail and I am not asking for password or reset password. This post has been edited by jack2: Aug 4 2020, 12:52 PMThere is no monetary involved and financial loss if someone accesses the account. I have been calling the number and keep waiting for more than 10 mins with no response and hearing the advertisements and announcement. "Please hold for the next available consultants". |

I applied medical insurance from Manulife for my sister who is OKU in Intelektual and the underwriter at first requested for
1. Statement for their panel doctor 2. Statement from usual visit doctor During this process, I have visited the doctors many times because of human mistake etc... Then now, they asked again to do blood test. I wonder why don't they request it once at all and not one by one. I have spent may times in bring my sister to do all of these. How about if after done all this, they rejected? This is business and I pay the insurance premium for them to "insure" one. Hence, I am looking for others companies which can access all at once without spending my time to do one by one. Please PM me. |

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Sep 6 2020, 01:35 PM) There is no such insurance company that ask for everything in one shot. Not really. We have declared everything on her condition and they did not ask for medical check on blood. The insurance underwriter will get a few reports first that is deemed necessary. If they need further investigation, they will request for follow up check up |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Oct 2 2020, 12:27 AM) hi jack, do you still have all the reports with you? since you already done all the checks required by Manulife and if you have all the reports kept with you, try to apply with other companies. Chance is minimal though but if you dont mind, can give it a try. if there is a company that can accept with exclusion and loading also consider good already. do update us again. Yes, I do have a copy. |

It is really a bad experience with Manulife.
First, I applied medical insurance for my sister who is OKU. They claimed that OKU is OK as long as is good health. The process was going through and then did blood test etc and found to be anemia and hypertension. They rejected the medical insurance with reason to come back and reapply again after 1 year. Then I wanna go for life insurance with them and they do not wish to offer as they claimed that my sister is Intellectual Disability in which her IQ is same like child about 15-16 yo. So kia su company, better don't do insurance business la. |

QUOTE(lifebalance @ Oct 13 2020, 08:17 PM) It's just a matter of offer and acceptance. You are right but of course there was something happened between me and the underwriter. You show up by offering them with such health condition and offer to pay x amount, it's up to the insurance company whether to accept your offer with the risk involved. If they don't want to accept, you got nothing to lose since you didn't pay them the premium. They also didn't lose anything by not offering your sister the coverage. In this scenario you've given, you're more in the mercy of the insurance company to accept a sub standard condition rather than the insurance company is asking for your business. If this company didn't work out with you, go try another company. Don't keep hard feeling about it. They asked to get latest blood test when they found out the blood test report that she did in 2019 has anemia issue. Then I asked the underwriter that if the latest blood test report showed the same issue without improvement, will you accept the offer or reject? If you accept, then I bring her to do blood test. If you reject, then no point to waste my time and your money to do the test. Then the underwriter gave direction to do the test... and at the end, rejected.. so you see how the attitude is |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Oct 14 2020, 09:13 PM) hi jack2, the plan you quoted above is not something you want. so you can ignore the offer. the agent offer you or company offers you? The agent helped me to appeal with the Co and the Co reviewed the appeal and provided this offer that they can offer.Anyhow, MSIG accepted my sister's application with some exclusions on medical side and I accept the exclusion as it is fair to both of us.
