Just want to start a discussion on this since there's no thread on Fave.

Promo
N/A

Tips on using FavePay
1) it's not ewallet and does not require topup to the account
2) Linked it to your Maybank 2 Card Amex and can be spent on any merchant and get 5% cash back during weekend ON TOP of partner cashback provided.
Partner cash back up to 10% with Maybank 2 Card Amex rebate of 5%, you can get up to 15% off from your favourite merchant.

PROMOCODE
1) Promocode by Stan Chart when using their credit card. End 31 Dec 2021. Webpage Fave x SCB webpage
a) FAVESCB1 - 20% cashback, max rm5 when using favepay
b) FAVESCB2 - 20% off fave deals, max rm5.

2) Promocode by Maybank when using their Amex. End 28 Feb 2021. Webpage Maybank AMEX10
- AMEX10 - RM10 Cash Back when spend min RM40

TIPS:
- add all the promo codes under "Settings >> Add Promo Code". This way, it's easier to manage the different types of promo that is going on.

Based on previously obtained answer at the credit card section, the answer is yes. Do update if you end up with different result.

Now my issue is favepay after the u-turn do not allow me to add NEW amex card. Anybody with same issue?

You can still add Amex card through their website, i used their website to pay via Amex and it automatically added in app as well.

anyway,
Below reply from Fave.
Good day!

Kindly be informed that customer will only be able to add AMEX card once we have released our next app update which is latest by 16th March. In the meantime, you may use your other debit/credit card to make purchases on Fave.

Thank you!

You can purchase any deal (during weekend for cashback) using website via Amex, it will automatically added into your wallet in mobile app.
I done that last weekend.
Or wait for their new soon to release app.

Location is always disabled in my phone.
I don't allow permission unless requested by the app such as Grab.
I'll turn it on by manual.

Hi, I'm new to Fave.

Would like to ask how the Shell Fuel Voucher work?

After I bought it, what will I get?

If I bought it for my wife, how is she going to use it?

Reading through the fine print, "The Shell Fuel Voucher must be presented to the cashier...." meaning the voucher can be printed out?

If only e-voucher, then my wife will have to install Fave in her phone and access my Fave account.

Hold the vouchers till July-August, hopefully RON95 will be >RM2/litre.

Yeap. That’s my planning also. So just keep it as credit first, now I need to explore more about the setel app.

Hello all,
10% cashback T&C says" Promotion is valid from 27 March 2020 - 30 June 2020"

1. If i buy Shell voucher within the promo period now but can i use it in July where petrol price likely higher?
2. How they give the RM5 cashback? Meaning i have to use fave to buy another shell voucher again ?

THank you

If an electrical shop accepts Favepay(FP), can I linked my Favepay to MB2Amex and pay the shop by FP on weekend n gets 5% cashback from MB2Amex?

Can I also use my accumulated Fave credits to make partial payment?

Yes, and you can also mix with your big points too.
Besides, if you buy multiple item from the shop, you can split payment, left 1 item as second transaction to utilize the earlier cashback.
Don't do so if you visit the shop often.

Thanks for D idea. Going to d shop to pay deposit of 1k using Fave+Amex to get 5% rm50 cashback. Then next weekend in July pay another 1k similarly to get another RM50 cashback.
But I will reserve my bigpoint for airasia since points expiry is 3years with 100=rm1 instead of fave 150=rm1.

I googled and got this page below n it said:

BIG Points as a form of payment at Fave app

1. The option to use BIG Points as a form of payment for Fave Products is only available for BIG Members (having subscribed and registered for membership under the loyalty and rewards program operated by BIGLIFE SDN.BHD. (formerly known as BIG Loyalty Sdn. Bhd.) (“BL”) under the name “BIG Loyalty” and have a unique registration number known as the “BIG Member ID” issued by BL at the point of purchase of Fave Products on Fave app.

2. Any deduction of BIG Points as a form of payment is only available at a minimum knock-off rate of 150 BIG Points for every RM1 used (“Rate”) for purchase of Fave Products.

Was told fave charge quite high on merchant, just dunno how high. I guess this 2.9% is to pass some cost to consumer.

I checked just now, eCard wont be imposed 2.9% fee.

I generally use it to pay only.

There is another way if the shop allows (like mine).
Eg: If item is rm1000, u make 1st Favepay payment of rm980 to the merchant n get rm19.60 cb, subsequently make d 2nd payment of rm20 n after deducting the rm19.60 cb earned previously, u pay rm0.40.

In short, favepay + amex will allow you to enjoy your amex card benefits because favepay is not considered ewallet to Maybank.

Dont think there is a way. It is part of your cost in buying any deals in fave.

The overall appeal of the deals may reduce since there is additional cost now.

hmm...i think fave is less appealing nowadays. 2.9% additional fee n most of the voucher codes cannot be used. furthermore, shopee n lazada also start selling more and more deals. fave is faded fast if they dont improve

do you know that fave charges up to 50% on merchants ? they charge both sides - merchants n consumers mad.gif

favepay not too great at highlighting the promos. just realised that these 2 months, when you use favepay, you get cashback for the merchant (which is the usual) AND you get additional e-cashback which can use to purchase ANY e-card or ANY deal on favepay

of course, i only spend on merchants i frequently visit. biggrin.gif dont spend for the sake of spending. even then, at least more reason to spend these 2 months.

ecashback is too useless to me.
I don't buy deals from Fave nor dining at those "certain" restuarants.

Fave to me is just for small little purchase like having a grande size of black coffee or bubble tea.

So Favepay is giving out more cash now. If you spend a minimum of RM20 you use FavePay at any merchants, you will get RM5 Fave cash back. This RM5 can accumulate and be used to purchased any fave deals.

Example useful fave deals will be shell petrol voucher if you dont have better things to buy.

cashback will expire 30 Sep though.

Whoa, this sounds awesome. Any idea if it's still active? The link is broken.

Although I just googled "30 percent bonus rebate bonuslink shell" and it seems like it should still be active..! Nice tip.

Yep and I just found out there are a select few petrol stations that accept Fave. Sorry I am only sharing this on the last day as I really only just discovered it..!

None in Klang Valley (unfortunately for me). 1 Caltex in Penang (island side), 3 Shells in Perak, 1 Petron in Kelantan, and 1 Petronas in Kuching.

Use cc with favepay earns 6% cashback only but get favepay merchant CB.

Now is cc CB + grabpoints + Favepay CB

6% got limit meaning it's not like your 6% top up is available without a cap, unlike 5x TP on Maybank AMEX. After you exhaust the 6% cashback from ur PB cards then what?

So really, the ideal way to really optimise it is you get the 6% cashback on PB cards and use it where AMEX is not accepted or does not award points.

Example: If merchant accepts both AMEX with no surcharge and FavePay, you should use AMEX because there's no limit on your points earn and save using the GrabPay credit topped up with 6% cashback at a merchant where they do not accept AMEX.

Something like that.

Did you just presume everyone has AMEX, which is not the case. This linking might not be useful for you in particular, but for people who extensively use grab, is a PLUS. Moreover, nowadays there are so many topup rewards for grab (hsbc, scb), it is another way to utilise the grabpay credits effectively.

People who have multiple ewallet cc shouldnt be an issue - PBVS, QM, Ambank truevisa, yolo etc

(Moreover, AMEX is useful on weekends only right?)

On topic, Favepay is gettting more popular nowadays. I see more merchants using it which is a good thing.

I'm not assuming anything at all. Nowhere in what I wrote did I imply that everyone has AMEX. By the same logic, I should ask you the same question - did you just assume everyone has "multiple ewallet cc"?

It is a given that what I'm saying is only applicable to those with the relevant AMEX, and it's also a given that what you're writing is relevant to those with the relevant cards. Nothing presumptuous about what either of us have written.

Also - I agree with you. This new GrabPay to FavePay link is a plus, no matter which way you look at it. More options is never a bad thing for consumers, but it does not mean that it instantly becomes the best option available.

If you (as you have mentioned) have multiplie ewallet ccs, and you really can't exhaust the quotas every month, there's no need to consider that these methods are "capped".

AMEX is not only useful on weekends. At least not in the case of linking it to FavePay - given the 5x TP is on all days of the week.

I'm not quite getting the impression FavePay is getting more or less popular, but I think this would very much depend on where you frequent. I'm genuinely (and pleasantly) surprised to see a small number of petrol stations accepting Fave though. Hopefully this becomes more common!

Ok. As the TS, i like to stop this amex grab link argument.

Some people enjoy doing a to b to c. Some people just want to a to b.

Nothing wrong just preference. Of course linking fave to ewallet is great but not everyone likes to save up money in their e wallet. I am one of them. Which is why i like fave. I just dont like storing value in ewallet except for maybank. Cause it's cash.

The September month was GOLDEN for Favepay.

I've accumulated >rm100 cashback from ePenjana (2x cashback and the rm5 cashback). This is in addition to the merchant specific cashback (5-15%).

Would be lovely if such campaign returns as penjana continues 😁

Surely there's nothing wrong with arguments as long as it's productive right? tongue.gif For me, I am more than happy to be proven wrong. Being proven wrong means I learn that, ok, what I thought was not the most optimal way and there's a better way - and this is only possible if people are willing to challenge each other.

On the topic of preference specifically though - of course there's nothing wrong. But if you're trying to determine the most optimal financial strategy, sometimes there is a clear "better way" and preferences can complicate this. Consider, for example, someone who just says "I prefer not using cc" - well, then all these strategies are effectively useless for you and all the "evidence" that can be provided as to why these are good are also useless.

I just had a look at the Alliance Bank cards. Alliance Bank Visa Platinum/Infinite Card right? 8x TBP? Just had a look at their rewards catalogue and I must say, TBP doesn't look too compelling though, if I'm honest. Main benefit seems to be that there is no cap on the points earn? Am I missing something?

I also agree for petrol to use cards, since there are many cashback which give good cashback on petrol i.e. citi cb (10%), SCB JOP (15%), HL WISE (8%).

Certain petrol stations take grab and favepay too. Favepay has this shell voucher which can be used.

I saw. But.. Enrich Miles are not great.. Are there some good value Enrich Miles redemptions that I'm not aware of? The redemptions now are all fixed rate of conversion which makes their program subpar compared to the competition.

If it was 6000TBP = 1000 Asia Miles or 1000 KrisFlyer Miles, then yes I would agree - that's actually fantastic.

problem is in m2p, change to enrich / kf / am all is same. 5,000 TP to 1,000 EM. if going sydney airticket is RM1,900 (fare exclude tax), then the miles is 56,000 EM.

56000 / 1000 x 6000 / 8 = spending RM42,000. meaning spending RM42k land u RM1.9k. 4.5% cashback.

while m2p, u need to spend RM56k. 1.9/56 = 3.4% cashback

Ah ok, then this maths makes sense if you're comparing conversions to EM specifically on M2P vs TBP.

However, what should really be considered is, how many points do you need for the equivalent redemption on Asia Miles/KrisFlyer? The other consideration is - how much is the cash fare at the time you intend to pay? When MAS fares are cheap, EM is relatively more attractive, because you'd need more equivalent miles in AM/KF to redeem the same equivalent fare.

to get 1000 EM, u need to spend RM750 (using alliance visa) 56k EM to Sydney

to get 1000 AM/KF, u need to spend RM1,000 (using m2p somemore require that u spent amex or MUVI if MU win) 56k KF or 50k AM

so for EM/KF, the miles is identical. AM though is lesser however their tax is higher.

as far as i know, no.

the "best" promo is if you have a friend and he/she sent referral code to you, you and her get RM1 extra, which is really so little.

there were some codes that give more discount if you are new but ONLY if you buy those deals but that was so specific for mastercard.

Just want to share a personal experience. bought a deal before mco that cost about RM13 to 14.

the restaurant has a few branch but the one i can go to is closed. was not happy, emailed them, so they refund the money back to me instead. quite fast. somewhat efficient customer service from fave.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for supporting Fave throughout the years of our growth journey ever since Fave started back in 2007.

For many years, we have been partnering with Air Asia, and our team has always been working tirelessly to bring you the best deals and rewards to make your shopping experience with us memorable.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, BIG Loyalty will be discontinued on our app starting from 28th February 2021.To affected customers like yourself, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience that you may experience due to this change.

If you have any BIG Points remaining in your BIG Loyalty account, we are still open for redemption so that you can utilise your points during the checkout process until 28th February 2021, 11.59 pm. For customers who have remaining Big Loyalty Points, you could redeem on the Air Asia platform moving forward.

In the meantime, Fave users could continue to enjoy merchant cashback, attractive deals, bonus value for eCards, rewards from credit card points, GrabPay rewards and Boost coins when shopping on Fave and making cashless payments with Favepay! 😍

can be 1 minute later also. so the thing about splitting transaction is the 2nd transaction will also earn cashback for another visit in the 3rd round lo.

actually all merchants and deals also can if i remember correctly. upon scanning the qr code, you still need to confirm payment. there used to be a sliding green button if you want to use your bigpoints and reduce the final cash payment.

anyway, point is moot since no longer applicable.

but that is the point to go back to support the merchant right. especially when times are difficult like these, i think the cashback makes sense to give us a reason to come back. i'd rather not ask to split bill just to save a few extra RM but risk getting awkward stares from people; being kiam also must have limit one ma. if the merchant you really not going to come back because its far or not convenient to go, then just use normal ewallet payment lo.

FavePay accepts DNQR now

KUALA LUMPUR: Fave, a smart payments app, is now a non-bank participant of Real-time Retail Payments Platform (RPP) with Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) to offer DuitNow QR, Malaysia's national QR standard to merchants in the country.

With QR-based mobile payments becoming a major trend and seen as a viable alternative for cash in Malaysia, the Fave enabled DuitNow QR code is an important milestone on Fave's platform to provide more convenience to merchants.

But Fave did not spam us with any emails saying they support DNQR already. I can only find websites quoting it starting today.

normal and has been repeated many times by many apps going to the market

pump marketing $$, big hoohah, everyone talks about it, more benefits to users ... eventually they cannot sustain without strong biz model by monetizing the users/data they gathered.

Not many merchants on that now. I used to use favepay a lot as I can use Amex to link.
