Even with numbers, as long as it isn't done on a market available and reviewer controlled machine is pretty moot. And the only thing i'd consider a review is if they took a look at the microarchitecture as well, because optimizations for specific programs exist as it is.

get your facts right... intel is the one who is basically far behind in terms of design is concerned.. intel does a lot of fabrication as well as modification of what amd is doing. As i have said, intel is always 2 steps behind

that was the past during s939, for now as of 20th july 2007, intel c2d and quad cores are better in gaming but loses to amd on windows startup speed and general office/non-gaming situation...but that is suppose to chg where by this phenom 4x is suppose to pwn them all and be better in both

but like a1098113 said, amd is ahead in terms of design...just that the design is not utilized to its full potential

better hope phenom will do some great thing to help AMD regain their crown in gaming PC. Now everyone only eye on intel Core 2 and Quad proc, if it doesn't help then AMD will be in deep water.

but phenom only will be available to the mass on OCT, donno it will bit too late or not? Hope AMD will find some remedy to face intel

IMO, I wont get phenom in this October, it would be freaking expensive. So the ram price (probably DDR3) would be.
The manufacturers launch their new products near year end (in 4Q) by intention.
As such they could sell them at a higher price as demand is high and people are in shopping spree generally.
Drag it up to next year 2Q. It would worth the wait for the $$$ buying power. HAHA

If Phenom has anything to to, it will be keeping AMD users AMD users.
Sticking to unified voltage regulations is one of the best things I've heard on upgradability and mid-range performance (es. FP) should be very competitive (Kuma/X2) with older Core 2 Duos.

Barcelona might not push that far but Kuma could. They should've rolled out the less ambitious chips first as a buffer.

so what the advantage of phenom, saw a lot news but nothing really tells much about this new core design......

AMD having too much trouble now. K10 yields for frequency more than 2.5GHz may be worse. I dont know if this also mean cant oc higher. But if they cant get mass production before penryn then they will be doomed. Maybe as Intel said unified quad core implementation was a suicide.

AMD Quad COre Phenomi can suit into AM2 Motherboard(Biostar Geforce 6100 I am using) , right??

And many other sponsors are deserting Ferrari because of Marlboro buying out the whole car and selling the sponsorship spaces at a higher price than usual. Vodafone even jumped ship to McLaren. Also Intel really use their relation to BMW.Sauber to the max compared to AMD with Ferrari. They even paid rFactor to make the car ingame for their simulator. go figure on who get the better coverage out of these 2 sponsors.

Anyway, high hopes for Phenom X2- something that might be cheap enough for all of us to buy that has comparable/better performance to C2D (seeing how they have their clocks arranged SO low when dual cores can go/start clocking higher- it should be quite efficient.)

And you don't need to get those crazy motherboards too. (An Asus P5B updated for Penryn is still RM400)
