If Phenom has anything to to, it will be keeping AMD users AMD users. Sticking to unified voltage regulations is one of the best things I've heard on upgradability and mid-range performance (es. FP) should be very competitive (Kuma/X2) with older Core 2 Duos.
Barcelona might not push that far but Kuma could. They should've rolled out the less ambitious chips first as a buffer.

Whatever Bryan's smoking, I want some of those... Dude, try decaf. Might change your life. Anyway, high hopes for Phenom X2- something that might be cheap enough for all of us to buy that has comparable/better performance to C2D (seeing how they have their clocks arranged SO low when dual cores can go/start clocking higher- it should be quite efficient.) And you don't need to get those crazy motherboards too. (An Asus P5B updated for Penryn is still RM400) This post has been edited by X.E.D: Jul 24 2007, 07:11 PM

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jul 25 2007, 12:01 AM) this thread's going no where. or am i the only one who thinks this direction? 90% of new threads in Hardware are.
