sorry for bursting the bubble here, apart from all the pentium and legend stuff, will the E4300 BSEL mod work for the E2140/E2160?

Have u checked processor numbering sheet from Intel website before u buy?

guys, what's your E2160 idle temp on TAT (stock vcore)?... i think i hv prob bcoz my TAT showing nearly 60C on idle...

i've got a problem ere...i hope somebody will help..
as you all can see on my specs below..i only manage to oc e2160 to 210mhzx9, that is a shame becoz this cpu can oc near 100%.. i donno whats wrong but at 211mhzx9, the screen goes blank..but it log on to windows..i know it has log on to windows by hearing the windows logon sound..is it faulty gc, mobo, ram, or my psu not 'strong' enough...
or maybe pci-e frequency setting not rite..try setting it ti 105mhz but also failed..

Basically for gaming need, go for more cache capacity. From what I read,
Pentium-Dual core(which already reduced cache to 1MB) just on par with Athlon X2. So better go for AMD(for cheap overclocking rig).

speaking of actual performance during gaming, will it give major diff between my cedar mill @3.4ghz 2mb cache with e2***/E4*** series??

ermm..meaning?cedar mill is better or conroe is better?due to cache?

Added on August 18, 2007, 11:59 amok this is freakin' stupid. it took BIOSTAR 5 days to reply, they gave me a new BIOS but heck i'm not sure whether they understood what I was complaining.

I replied, I've not gotten any answer on the same day so heck. I decided not to wait. Made the effort to find a floppy disk and drive, updated the BIOS and ............... WTH, still the stupid RAM ratio.

will do that but average wall i found out from this bunch of e2140's is about 370~390 @ STOCK VOLTS...not sure if upping voltages could help it =)

using a e2160 SLA3H or something. lol forgot. cant oc higher than 3.15ghz. suspecting ram limiting me. and vista giving more headaches. will do more oc-ing after installing xp. no xp cd . the best fsb:ram ratio is 1:1 ah? sorry noob question. lol. can get 1:1 ratio but SPD at 2.0 (whatever that means), 5-6-6-16, 668mhz ram. 3ghz oc. if 3.15ghz oc ram running at 5-5-5-15 forgot what ratio, either 5:6 or 3:5. need some sifu to help. but later la. headache with vista. lol.

I still dont know if M0 is helping...like G0 for quadcore series...but then I heard M0 for E4x00 sux...some i have seen wont even reach 3GHz.
