it depends on the game you are playing, whether it supports physX or not. but you definately will have to compromise (loose fps) for higher quailty physics effect, and our 8600MGT (with 32 cores/stream processors) is just not powerful enough to handle both GPU+physx. i just disabled physX from the driver GUI and let my T7500 CPU handle the physX calculations. (i want a 8800M/9800M for 1520!!)

a note on 177.92, i've been using this for just over a week now, and i felt that this driver is a bit unstable (bluescreen, etc) especially when going into battery mode or waking up from sleep. anyone else notice these issues?

Before I update my driver to 199.92 , the official drivers does bluescreen aswell. Until now there's no bluescreen yet , will update you guys if anything else. biggrin.gif
What's your lowest score for the Windows Point yea ?

wilson : Does that happen when you're using original drivers ?

my 1520 way better than studio 15 in terms of performance..just design only
*
I dont see why you'll say that your 1520 will be better than the Studio 15.
Unless you're comparing it with the most basic spec , otherwise , I dont think it'll lose far behind compare to 1520.

Dont you think that Dell did a great job on the newest Studio 15 as there's no more Faulty chips from Nvidia ? nod.gif

but so far nvidia doesnt gif any faulty to me n i think same goes to other users at here
but too bad ins1520 for sale now is not centrino...not like last time n of coz mine is centrino..
n same goes to gpu..last time is 8600gt but now downgrade to 8400gs ddr2 which makes ppl look for ins1420 better coz it use 8400gs with ddr3
i only can say tht design for studio 15 does make ins1520 lose
*
Yes , so far 1520 users never encounter faulty chips issue with their GPU but that doesn't mean it wont happen right ?
If you're in the same boat like others , will you still go for a faulty GPU chips?

You can even add Rm2112 to get a T9500 in the Studio line .
Basically , I dont think you can compare directly to that though.
Unless you're comparing with a final product like MacBook 2ghz or MacBook Pro which end user doesn't have the option to customize their notebook.

Vostro got 15 and 17 also.
During I order my 1720 , they fax me a quotation of Vostro 1720 that comes with greater processor and 1920x1680 screen with the same price.
I'm going for color so , live with it. laugh.gif
