By the way, the scenario above with walls are just like when you living in hostels. You got friends on other floors but want to play PSP multiplayer.
You have WRT54G? AFAIK official firmware can only run on AP mode so maybe you try flash to DD-WRT custom firmware and set it to adhoc mode. The other wifi router then run as a repeater for that adhoc signal. I haven't tried that but it should be ok with that setup except that i cant confirm repeater mode can work for adhoc. edit: PSP scans for ad-hoc signal and skip AP signal. So the above diagram will not work
